Attempt 1 was a horrible pull in part 2 (Devil, Fire, Gnoll, Orc). We DD'd out.

Attempt 2 was a cake pull (Cat, Earth, Gnoll, Kobold). Killed them, got to part 4. Rogue fireballs bit us hard, recalled when we were down to 1 cleric.

I'm thinking a secondary protective wall of ranged rangers might not be a be a bad thing in runs where the clerics can be one-hit killed. Any of you ever tried this?

It was a bit of bad luck in part 4. We lost a ranger and our bard right off the get go from the Orthons. We lost our caster right after the first round and then proceeded to lose clerics after that. Up until part 4 it went very smooth.

I'll be the first to admit that 350HP is pretty squishy for Shroud Elite but those Orthons chopped me to bits in no time I'm curious what AC actually helps them miss since I should have been hovering around 55AC at the time of death.

Kist and Thet haven't done the Shroud (ie I've never done the Shroud) but Kist is Shroud-ready. Only level 15 Wiz, 33 Int atm... nothing special acid/light spec'd but anyway I've sound overall skills and habits -- can help although I think I'd be more useful once I score a Shroud run or two on normal/hard & some gear (and crafted items, etc).

At 450 hit points I was feeling kind of squishy in there as well so there is nothing to be shamefull about. I think we did quite well in there, we just need to modify our strategy some to get through that part. We should have been a little more preped at the start, get our clerics, caster, and bard into the corner to minimize damage and assigned healing assignments for mass heals for that first part. We're all to used to normal, and elite was far more challenging. For each sequence against the devil we need to make a better shield wall for the clerics and casters and have them stand behind the ranging rangers, those fireballs are nasty in elite and the key is to survive each part. I think our clerics were well stocked with supplies before the run, but they died before they even went through there mana bar. All in all it was a fun run, I'd like to keep trying it until we succeed.

This thread is about a failed elite shroud run that would have completed had I been there to pick up the slack. Unfortunately, my new boss is giving me unrealistic deadline on new projects that she thinks will make her a superstar in the executive managements eye so I get stuck actually doing some work.

And not during my normal work hours!!!
