    Default New content idea???

    After playing the game for approx 2 and a half years, I am nearly at the point where it is time to say goodbye.
    However after reading MOD 8 teasers, I feel like patience is the answer. I have alot of guildies who are now taking an extended break due to the game becoming a bit stale.
    What I personally would love to see, is more low level content.
    The though of rolling a new toon these days makes one feel sick due to you knowing you must run the harbor stuff, tangleroot, deleras, WW etc etc. Its just painful.
    High level content is awesome dont get me wrong, but when your toons are capped, its all wasted xp, maybe save the high level stuff for when we have a level cap raise etc.
    The monk well.......not what I expected at all.
    Maybe the Half Orc and druid could be introduced.
    Instead of these high level raids all the time, what about a 5 - 7 level raid, some new 1-3 level content.
    At the end of the day its all wasted xp.
    Havent played for a while, are the handwraps fixed yet?????????

    There's a huge amount of low level content. Most is almost never played, due to severe XP imbalance. For instance, you can run a new toon through Freshen the Air or Irestone Inlet, take 30 minutes, have a modest chance of failure, and if you make it, get about 2 or 3k XP (IIRC). Or, you can spend that 30 minutes running Waterworks start to finish, have no chance of wiping, and get about 8k XP and a potentially very nice end reward. Or, you can run Tangleroot in a zerging group, get 3/4 of the way through in your 30 minutes, and have already gained 10-12k XP and be 10 min from getting another 4-5k and excellent end rewards.

    All that is needed to create the illusion of a huge amount of new low level content is to spend 3-4 hours of Dev time increasing the XP on the seldom run quests (by amounts ranging from 30% to 250%), and decreasing the XP on the stale old quests by 10-40%.

    High level on the other hand badly needs more content (and a lot more), because once you are capped, there's nothing else to do - and you don't have the luxury of having 20-30 quests that are close enough to your level that you can be reasonably likely to beat them and also that you can get worthwhile rewards from. At endgame currently, there are worthwhile rewards in the three endgame raids (plus the Reaver for the first 20 runs), and in the Mod 4 and 5 quests that have good named loot, and that is all. The mod 4 and 5 stuff is so easy since the last level cap raise that it's all a boring grind, so really it leaves only the three raids, which get old quickly.


    On the other hand, I wouldn't mind the Devs making some changes to one low level quest to allow you to take a raid party into it, just for kicks. I'd suggest Irestone Inlet (give it a Raid difficulty option, which is treated as a level 4 quest but has the exact same difficulty as Elite currently is, plus make YarYar tougher), or maybe give the same treatment to STK (which has corridors wide enough for a raid party to not feel cramped in).
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    If you have no desire to run those quests, don't(unless you want to run it through once for potential rewards/first time experience). Yes, it may be an extremely quick way to level, but there are many other quests out there that are seldom played. I agree with Sirgog that experience should be re-evaluated somewhat for those quests that are run less often.

    No offence, but I have been running ALL THE LOW LEVEL QUESTS for 2 and a half years I know what is out there like the back of my hand, and the only reason you run them is for favour, with Gianthold, Orchard of the Maccabre, the Vale and now under the marketplace there is alot of high level content, why not make it interesting building a new toon instead of running your capped characters for no xp only loot which you never get anyhow. Enough to cover the quest if you are lucky.

    And on a secong point, I know of several people who have all toons capped and all slots, what does these poor people do, that is the only strength for your arguement.

    There are more level 1-4 quests in the game than there are level 14+ quests. A lot more.

    And players spend a LOT more time at levels 14-16 than they ever do at levels 1-4 (even first time players hit 5 pretty fast). If you are 14-16, the only quests that are at all challenging are Elite Crucible (barely), Elite Ghosts of Perdition and Inferno of the Damned (if you don't know optimal strategies), Gianthold Tor (dragons only, barely), Litany of the Dead (some wings only), the Abbot (doesn't count), Coalescence Chamber (but it's boring), Elite Running with the Devils (if you don't know optimal strategies), and the three endgame raids.

    That's 10 quests, and only 10, that provide high-level players with a moderate challenge, and only really the three raids on elite pose any significant challenge, save the Abbot which doesn't count. Lowbies have dozens of quests that are challenging enough to be fun, plus if you are after a real challenge, you always have the option of trying something mad like trioing Tempest Spine at level 10, or running Gwylan's Stand on elite with no rogue and no raise-capable cleric.


    I don't want to see the Devs waste any more time on stuff like the Three-Barrel Cove quests that I'll wager get run once for favor by most players, then ignored, simply due to being at levels where there is already a large number of quests.

    Ill meet you half way and say that the only challenge is under the marketplace!
    Still if in the lower level quests you have named items eg trinket from deleras now, people will run them continually.
    Forums are a place to vent ones wishes ideas frustrations whatever, things need to change for us veterans.
    Has the loot goten worse since the introduction of the AH? Seems to strenghtne some while others suffer.
    The cost of running a character is ridiculous, and what do they do they introduce threads of how to manage money LOL oh my god!
    So the game must stay stale until you reach level 14 then, i guess im flogging a dead horse

    Um, you said you read the Mod 8 teaser, and that includes a revamp of the whole starting experience. Did you also miss 3 Barrel Cove in the last mod? That contained several new lowbie quests. They've added several lowbie explorer areas and quests at various levels since the game went live. The last mod had more lowbie quests than high-level quests added. While I like when new lowbie quests are added as well, it seems to me that there should always be more new high-level quests than low, since there are already a lot of choices in the low levels.
