I am running the game at 2560x1600 and I have been messing around (I'm bored and have nothing better to do) with my graphics in either Very High or Ultra High settings.
In the UserPreferences.ini file under [Display] is the option of AllowFakeFullScreen=True/False
When set to "True" I get the fantastic graphics but the Frame Rates are in the 60-200 range. The game is playable with no lagging. This is the way I normally play the game.
When set to "False" I still get the great graphics and a Frame Rate of 80-300 range and an average of 120 FPS depending where I am at. However there is a graphic anomaly that is bugging the fool out of me. There are these horizontal "sparkly" lines around distant objects or around people or the hotbar icons. It also appears when the 2d turbine logo is displayed when starting the game.
My question is what is AllowFakeFullScreen doing that is "fixing" the problem when it is set to True?
I have also been wondering if this might be fixed when DX10 is implemented.
