Was thinking about making a wf wizard but i dont like what ive seen for docents as compared to robes, there seems to be more
variety of robes with special abilitys like fearsome, stability, etc. Would being a wf be worth it?

There are plenty of great docents out there for WF. Fearsome, stability, deathblock, spell resistance, and of course a few named ones too liek Docent of Defience, Quickening, and so on and so forth. Many WF Wizards like the Blue Dragon Scale Docent. It has a few good attributes much like the Blue Dragon Scale Robe.
Many players feel that WF is a great Race for the Wizard class. The synergy between WF immunities, the self healing thru a varity of repair spells, and the fact that Int is the primary stat for Wizards and WF has no negative to that Attribute, they make a great pair.

There really are few robes that are truly appealing. Probably the best one is the blue dragonscale robe. You can make the same thing as a docent, only the docent is better (higher AC).
Fearsome docents are available. I've stopped auctioning mine since they don't seem to sell.
The docent from the dragon raid (velah) is nice since it gives you a few skill boosts and +5 dex.
If you are thinking about going WF wizard, why not go a little further and make a WF sorc. They are a blast to play. Tons of HP, Mana, and fast casting.

The only minor downside to a WF Sorc is they take a charisma hit as far as im aware, i could be wrong, but sorcs overall get more mana, as to HPs, a WF wizzie and WF Sorc are no different HP wise, they both get the same dont they? WF wizzies are just as much fun to play and they get more access to repair spells than sorcs do without having to suffer from spell selection.
The difference between wizard and sorcerer comes down to what the character wants to achieve as a caster.
While there are plenty of exceptions, the general rule is that sorcerers make better offensive casters while the wizards make better all-around casters.
Sorcerers get more spell points so even with the lower charisma they have more mana. The DC of their spells is lower because of the difference, but it is really pretty much negligible.
The biggest difference is that wizards use INT as the base stat and that affects skill points (meaning more skills) and wizards, as a class, get more feats.
Both classes are fairly popular ones with WF. Which you choose really should be based on what you want to be able to do as a caster.
If you want to really focus on nuking things then you should go sorcerer. If you want to have a few more options and the ability to custom tailor for any mission and group, then go wizard.
Leyoni, all valid points, all i was addressing was the points about hps, mana and fast casting. HPs are the same, con enhancement is the same, but also adding in the factor of having more spell slots available as a wizard therefore being able to take repair spells to heal yourself, without neglecting other important spells. As you said though, its like any class, up to individual playstyle.
Warforged sorcerors are a blast to play, it's why you see so many of them.
Warforged Wizards in Adamantine armor with an 18 CON, are down right frightful to go against if you built it right, keep mark of the master up, and don't worry about the -4 to hit from your improved efficacy items or what ever.
As has been covered before, it's up to you on what you view as most important, a sorcerors fast spell casting, which let's face it, makes it actually fun to repair yourself and other Warforged followed up with an empowered fireball.
With a Wizard you get more feats to play with, so you can take things like spell school focus feats, that make your spells that much harder to resist. As a sorceror, be prepared to cast some of your spells at least twice for it to land at a good spot.
No robe or armor in game can touch docent of defiance, with the exception maybe of some very high ac builds.

Britches and Hose kidnapped my dog and are forcing him to farm Shroud ingredients.
Pretty much anything you can get on a robe you can get on a docent. Fearsome, Deathblock, Invulnerability, Spell Resistance, Shadow, Elemental Resistances, Elemental Guards, Arcane Sigil to reduce Arcane Spell Failure (if you want to use Mithral plate, this is a good option), and even some Power docents.
You won't suffer from not being able to wear robes.

Interesting note here. I'm in an exclusively WF guild so there are some great builds there. I just wanted to point out that there is a WF wizard in my guild and the guy is hands down own of the best tanks AND casters I've ever come across. Dunno what his build is all about but I do know that he's got a couple lvls of fighter in there.
