Can we get a "we know there is a problem and we are working on it" post?

Since the new mod, on several occasions, I log in, select a character and spawn in the world. When I start to move, I go about 10 feet and then snap back to my starting position. My internet connection is strong and I am experiencing no packet loss either. I also do not have anything running in the background so I am confused.

It is intermittent so I am wondering is this on your server side, my PC or possibly my area's internet. I live in NYC and have Verizon DSL.

Please help as this is very frustrating.

This is happening on the Sarlona Server in case that helps.

Do you have a router or firewall? Can you try playing in windowed mode to see if you are getting any security alerts?

Hey Jaybird,
Awhile back I had the same problem. It would happen as soon as I popped in and it didn't matter which toon I used. The only way for me to get it to work was to completely shut down the pc and reboot. Couldn't just shut down DDO or do a restart hot boot, had to shut down system. I had no security warnings or alerts. Window mode was no different.

I wish I had an answer for you, it hasn't done it in awhile and I never figured out what was causing it. If anyone has any ideas on this issue please let us know.

Also remember other symptoms, could not jump (feet stayed on ground), could not switch weapons, and other people witnessed me rubber banding from their perspective.

No alerts in background. Also experienced the glued feet jumping also. Nothing has changed with my network either. Weird thing is that this just started with the new Mod. I wonder if their were any connection changes with the release?

Do you have a firewall? If you have exceptions for the game you may have to remove and re-add them.

I do have a firewall but nothing has changed with its settings. I will try that and see what happens. I just built a new system and will be migrating to it shotly so I will see if the problems persist. Thanks everyone for chiming in. DDO has the best community and support by far!

Just an update. Took my rig to BB and they found a bad memory stick (I had just installed it 4 months ago). New stick solved the problem.

yea....ever since this morning i've been having that problem.

i used to have a memory stick that didn't play well with the others, but since i removed it, no problems.

so far, i've rebooted three times, and it hasn't helped.

the FUN part's gonna be that even though i was working just fine yesterday, and the ONLY thing that's changed has been the patch, they're still gonna make me jump through hoops for help. oh, wait, i'm running 2k, they won't help with that platform. let's just forget the xp runs the 2k kernel.

just gotta hope the ideal person comes along with my particular problem, huh?

i'm complained in a few posts, but i've since found a workaround, and feel kinda obligated to share it.

especially since tech support is about as useless as...well... i don't know any phrases that won't get moderated out.

when you first load ddo, make sure you load into a small area (the portable hole works for me, but i suppose other SMALL taverns might work too). then sit for a while, like a minute or two, before you go someplace else (via teleport or a door).

i think it has something to do with loading the rest of the game..... or something. i dunno.

all i know is, if i initially load/zone in to meridia, or the marketplace, i rubberband after several seconds.

Not just Thelanis. Ghallanda also. I couldn't sell and couldn't zone from Market to House D. Logged out to see if it would fix and now can't get back in game.

Exact same problem on Khyber. No mail, AH, logging in, access to zones.

Having the same problems on Khyber. I rebooted ddo and I cannot even log in now. I get this message: General Error accessing your account information. Try again later, and contact tech support if the problem persists.
