Bandwidth Exceeded Help

Okay I'm unfamiliar with the forums, and I was kindly suggested to post my previous thread here!

Here's some extra information from other posts which I answered to help clarify.

I built this computer in may and haven't been able to play ddo until recently so this problem then has been occurring ever since installation. My former computer had SP2 and worked perfectly fine so I question if having SP2 on this computer is a problem. In addition after installation from the CD, I transferred the DDO folder from the programs folder from the former hard drive to my new one to skip downloading the updates. Since I had no errors before, I do not believe that it's an error from a corrupt file. (I could be wrong...lol) I only have two USB's plugged into my computer, mouse and keyboard. All hardware is updated with recent drivers, (unless a new one came out with in the past 2 months). Oh, and after rearranging the mouse and keyboard USB, sometimes the error message doesn't pop up, but DDO will still freeze for 2 seconds every few minutes.

Every time I log into DDO, I receive a message saying, "The controller does not have enough bandwidth available for the USB Composite Device , which has requested 16% of the bus bandwidth." I really do not know where to begin to figure out the source of the problem, but only when I open the DDO program do I get this problem, and it causes my game to freeze every few minutes for about 2 seconds. I appreciate any help or suggestions. I will gladly give any other information if it's requested. Thank you for your help!

I have never seen that error before ever, but it really sounds like it is a problem with the usb bus - from looking it up online there really is no concensus. Can you please post a full dxdiag.

General Recommendations:

1. If you are using a USB hub -- try and remove it from your configuration. Connect the devices directly to your computer. This includes devices such as USB keyboards, that also have additional USB ports.

2. Connect only the devices you need to play. Remove any extra USB devices such as: printers, cameras, etc.
3. Spread your USB devices around -- if you have everything plugged into the back, try putting some in the front, side, etc -- if available.

4. If your computer does not have USB -- and you have a PCI - USB controller, then perhaps the controller is bad.

1. Are you using an USB hub(s)?
1. How many USB devices are connected.
2. How many USB ports does your computer have, and where are they located?
3. What USB devices are attached .. to what ports?

I dont remember if i said it or not in this post, but I have this same post in General Discussion because for some reason I over looked tech assist.

I have only two USB "human interface" devices plugged in, a mouse and keyboard, both of which are directly plugged into the back panel of the motherboard.

No printers, cameras, memory cards, flash drives, or anything else is plugged in. I do not have PCI usb thingy. (Thingy...? Thats a good technical word, sorry)

So here's to answer your questions!

1) Although my monitor has USB ports Ive NEVER used them, and I also have an external memory card reader (rosewill) which has a USB port, and is connected to my motherboard and is located on the front case panel, but it has nothing in it, no usb plugged, or any memory cards.

2) 2 usb devices connected, mouse and keyboard, both logitech. The keyboard is plain jane and is not wireless, the mouse is a wireless g7.

3) According to the motherboard manual: "Supports up to 8 USB 2.0/1.1 ports (Four at mid-board, four on the rear panel)". However the amount i actually count are 4 in back, from the motherboard, 2 in front from the case, and 1 from the card reader, which is currently temporarily disconnected from the motherboard.

4) Okay, now here's the part which i get confused, most back panel usb's are organized in a square like such

I dont know if they're the actual port numbers and i can't figure out where to find out the actual ports the computer gives them, but by my "graph"
I have a mouse in "port" 1 and a keyboard in "port" 3

Can you disable the USB Hub within your monitor? If yes, do so for now.
You are certain that there is no PCI USB card installed in addition to the onboard USB?

You have not upgraded to SP3 for XP?

Do you, or did you, at one time use a USB Soundcard/headset?

For your error to start -right- as you launch DDO would make me think its not the mouse and keyboard giving you the error since they've already been plugged in and working.

Also, what model motherboard do you have?

It is also possible if you installed XP first, and then upgraded to SP2, your drivers for the USB ports are only running at 1.0 speeds

IT'S FIXED!!!!!!!!!!!!

For those curious here's the solution

The driver which was updated with the motheboard had the wrong audio driver attached. Although I had the right file, (M2N-SLI) for some reason it had an Nvidia sound drivers which although the device manager said "No conflict" still caused the audio to use more than the system could allow.

So after trial and error, about I swear like 53 of moving things, reconnecting, taking this out, hooking this up, re installing EVERYTHING, and restarting DDO EACH TIME SOMETHING CHANGED , one thing FINALLY worked.

There were two of us trying to figure out the problem, and eventually we narrowed it down to audio, (since after disabling one of my two composite devices my sound shut off, but the problem also ceased).

And some how or another he (not me, lol i actually have no credit in fixing it) figured out the on board sound device doesn't match the audio which the motherboard cd, (And the latest audio driver of my motherboard model) came with and we had to download and install a separate driver. C-Media being the name of my audio device, not Nvidia.

So Thank you Altumus, ManinBlaq, DaveyCrockett, and TrenknaQu'dane for all your suggestions and help, since it gave ideas to what to try for the trial and error!
