    Default I need computer help

    My graphics card went out!

I might have a handy solution though. But I need some computer advice.

My computer is an HP a1410n Media Center.

    Here are my specs:

    Hardware
    Base processor
    Athlon 64 (V) 3800+ 2.4 GHz

    *
    2000 MT/s (mega transfers/second)
    *
    Socket 939

    Video card
    XFX GeForce 7600 GT XXX

    Motherboard

    Asus: A8N-LA

    Memory
    Component Attributes
    Memory Installed 2 GB (4 x 512)

    Speed supported PC-3200 MB/sec
    Type 184 pin, DDR SDRAM
    DIMM slots Four
    Open DIMM slots Two
    Hard drive

    *
    200 GB SATA
    *
    7200 rpm

    16X DVD(+/-)R/RW (+/-)R DL LightScribe drive

That XFX card is the one that went out. The computer came with an integrated card. I have a PNY GeForce 7600 GS except that it is an AGP card and my motherboard will only take PCI. However, I also have an ASUS motherboard from another computer that was never finished. That's where the other video card came from. (I can't find the specs on the second motherboard right now.) What I want to know is, what will I have to do to put my hard drive into the other computer? Meaning, will windows need to configure new ports or anything or should they just swap right over. What will I have to do or will Windows take care of everything?

    Does that make sense?

Is the other computer fully operational? If so, swap the HDD out (make good and GD sure you have the NIC drivers handy). XP will boot to the "new" HDD and start barking for new drivers coz all the hardware has changed. If you can get on the itartubes you should be able to source alll the drivers XP doesn't have in its library.

Other than drivers and settings for the new GPU, you'll be golden re: game config, ports, what-have-you
... I hate you all. really.

Thanks Mule!(Love your music by the way! lol) I jut ended up ordering a new card for my original computer. The power supply wouldn't switch over because of pin configuration.
