    Default 403 Forbidden?

Logged on just now and after the initial screen, it normally goes to the connect, Update Programs, etc., checklist. When servers are down it normally displays, "Getting data centers". Well, this time it did that, and then gives the following message:

Error while accessing the remote configuration:

The remote server returned an error: (403) Forbidden

What is this? How did it happen? And how do I fix it?

I logged on last night without a problem, and have not changed any security setting for quite a while. Please help

    Default Now Im really confused

After a couple hours of trying to log on, with the same results as above, I tried a different ISP. I recently switched to a much faster wireless connection, but still have the rest of the month paid for on my hardwire connection that is slow and unreliable. Mind you, the faster connection worked just fine yesterday and the day before, so I cannot imagine why it would be blocking me now.

Anyways, I connected the old, slow ISP and I was able to get connected, which brought me to the log-on screen. I log on, but then switched to the new, faster ISP. Suddenly, all available worlds came up with red X's. Switching back to the old ISP, the green checkmarks came back up. I log onto Sarlona, and get in-world. Switch back again to the new one, and I lag out.

However, I am able to use Internet explorer just fine, with fast speeds. In fact, I am even typing this post using the new ISP. What is the deal?

If it is a wireless network - ie no cable going to your house then that may be the cause. Wireless/satellite connections dont send a constant stream, they do it in bursts usually (stated simply) and this causes problems connecting to the game.

    Question 403 forbidden in logs

i've got exactly the same issue. I am connected via adsl, using a linksys wag54g2 router. I have DDOU on both a dekstop and laptop the laptop wireless the desktop wired. Both report the same error in the launcher log. Laptop vista home premium, desktop win xp sp2, latest gfx card drivers installed, both amd cpu's desktop has nvidia card latop amd. both exceed recommended spec. I've configured port forwarding on the router as suggested with no change apparent.
Is this it then, we're in the select group who can't play and should just wander off and do something else? I was really looking forward to getting into this - this is the first time i've actually signed up for a MMO. Sorry if i sound terse it's been a frustrating day trying to find out what could be causing this.

    Default 403: Forbidden

I also am having this same problem. I'm becoming rather frustrated. I know it's a little harsh to say that this issue may result in me never playing this game. I'm seriously considering it. I've been trouble shooting this problem for about 3 hours and have fixed several problems, but when attempting to fix this one, I was sent to the community page. This makes me a little mad. Is this the unfix-able problem? Is this the one thing that is going to make me give up on D&D? I have tried for so long to get into D&D, and if this is not figured out soon, then this may just be the straw that breaks the Dragonborn's back.

Default HTTP status 403: Forbidden. System.NullReferenceException: object...

I had this error and after trawling through posts and tutorial pages and trying different things i changed my proxy settings in Firefox (because firefox is my default browser) in case the launcher used a web browser in start-up.
But that didn't... The launcher will always use Internet Explorer it seems (cheeky bugga)

So i managed to find a solution to my case of the 403 problem.

    Open Internet explorer

    Open Tools

    Select Internet Options

    Click Connections Tab

    Open LAN Settings

Now i selected Automatically detect settings and un-checked the box for the proxy server settings that my ISP's welcome disk set-up automatically.
This fixed my problem and i still have net.
I don't really understand why changing the settings for Internet Explorer fixed the problem so if anyone can enlighten me?
Let me know if this helps at all or if anyone has found any other solutions on 403 errors because there doesnt seem to be much info out there other than this post of questions?
