Updated Client?

So I have been fighting the client for a few days on the DL'ed demo for DDO. I've patched to Mod 7. I have updated my video drivers. I've tried everything I have read on line about it, but I still can not get into the game to even create a character. I run Vista (boo!), but I'm not sure that the problem lies with the OS.

So I have everything on there to Mod 7. I open the launcher, sign in, pick my server. We go to the opening Turbine logo, I ESC past the cinema, then I see a screen for less than a second that looks like there are two green creatures to the left and to the right. Then then DDO crashes, and I it says that I do not have the current client installed on my PC. After doing all the upgrading and what not, my launcher says version 0. Before it automatically updated after installing Mod 7, it said 1.07.

Is there anything to help me? Thank you for your assistance.
