    Default bad barbarian

i have a human barbarian thats level five right now and his stats are as follows -
    18 str, 15 dex, 16 con, 12 int, 9 wis, 9 cha. fort 7, refl 3, will 0.

my ac is 23 and thas with a shield. i use a +3 longsword.

i havent played this game since march or so but i just tried playing again today and died 3 times at some place called searing heights.
i would have died more if i didnt rage but i still died as much as the bard. im not happy with this. this was under normal btw.

whats the key to success for a barbarian in this game? yes i do have (rhymes-with-rap) gear. i should also note i dont carry too many potions.
    have a day!

Searing heights are a pain without resistances. With house p buffs your at least safe from the fire and acid attacks which happen quite often out there. Good saves help you out there as well. Barb er full barbs usu need some support. so take a group out there next time and stay together!

As for your stats they are ok. I would make the decision now if you want a barb with ac or not. For me barbs are about power and not ac. That usu = Two weapon fight specced or two handed fighting.

    Lose the shield.

Get yourself a GreatAxe if your 2 handed fighting, or if your a 2weapon fighter depending on race can do Dwarf Axes or take Exotic Khopesh, or Heavy Picks. Sword and Board is for the fighters/pally's.

Searing Heights can be a bit difficult at times if your not prepared. Best thing to do is to do a bunch of House P Favor until you can get the 30 minutes buffs. Couple of 30 minute resist energies/stat buffs can go a long way.

Nothing wrong with your stats for most part (i wouldn't have brought my INT so high (also wisdom/charisma) but its not going to hurt you. Just keep adding to strength every chance you get. Your 15 dex, assuming that is starting works well at end game if you want to be a 2 WF (would need to get a +2 dex tome). The big thing about being a Barb is your not a Tank, if you have a fighter with you let them grab agro ahead of you. Play smart, move around, try not to get surrounded.

By end game your AC will not matter, and you will be the main DPS dealer for melee in party.
