Of course I have plenty of specific wishes, I just would rather entertain offers. The best deals are those where each party thinks they got the better end. My opinion is that this the best banishing weapon type and the twink value is great. I've gotten a few offers so far and they are good, but I want to be as happy with a trade as you will be. I've been playing for a long time and this isn't my first banisher or good pull, so send me an offer of what YOU would accept in a trade.

I always think that when someone say's make me an offer and doesn't list what they are looking for they are taking you to be a chump who'll go nuts and give away the farm.

Yea, you guys are right. It was foolish of me to try and use this area for trading. It was silly of me to be unsure of what I want and simply entertain offers. Like I said; I have been around a while and DO know better

Every time I've been in a market environment that provides for the capacity to haggle, there's usually a starting price. In places like Tijuana it's often set to something like... oh... 10-20x what they'd accept as a final deal, but then again, most of them hombres seem to get as much or more joy from the barter than the sale. I've heard some very uncomplimentary things said about the dumb tourists that pay the 20 bucks asking price for one of those woven mexican blankets.
Now, on the Thelanis marketplace, I've seen alot of people put up the phrase, "make me an offer," then get annoyed or offended when someone lowballs their expectations. I would suggest either putting up a wishlist of items you're looking for, or what you might want to get in trade. It sets a table for people to work with.
Also- please, people... if you think the price is too high and you must protest, have a little respect. You wouldn't want them to come into your trade thread and belittle you, I'm sure.

my lord if you want the item make an offer its really not that hard... whats a banishing rapier go for on the ah, ok its a rr 8 elf/drow...send an offer its probably worth 1.25x a non rr more or less to some people who like to reroll and play toons in that level all the time.... its not aedyns first rodeo...what does anyone want that doesnt post a demand list....either L's or plat... probably a good starting point...

Agreed. If you are interested, shoot him an offer. If you aren't interested, don't. If you are confused about how to formulate an offer for said item, you would probably end up poking yourself in the foot with the weapon anyway, so it's best you don't use it. It's obvious that some people aren't interested in aquiring it anyway, since the best negotiating tool usually isn't come online and insult the seller.

No, what's funny is that someone who posts "trading <blah> for 10 lg ingred" when the item's clearly not worth more than half that would berate another poster for how they want to negotiate their own trades. Really, as has been said by Ringos/JRP folks should refrain from all this and either make offers as the poster has asked for them or move on. It's not up to any of us to tell people how to trade their own items...

I traded my set of +5 MFP for 8 large ingredients yesterday, a set last week for 10, and saw that Impaqt traded a set several weeks back for 12.

Fair enuf. Seemed high to me, but congrats. It's the forum policing in general I was objecting too, apologies for singling you out. Just grumpy from lack of coffee today, nothing personal meant by it.
