Default Can Barbarians cast quickened spells?

Question is very simple. If I'm a raging barbarian, can I still cast quickened divine spells with no problem. I know rage inhibits concentration based ctivities, but as quickened spells (are usually) free actions, do they require concentration, and are exepmt from the standard rule.

I doubt very many barbs have quicken to fairly answer this. :P

But I am going to guess that you would not be able to, there is not much you can do raged except hit hard.

    No, they can't.

Using the Concentration skill is one of many things prohibited during rage. Casting spells is another.

Quickened spells are never free actions. Whether an action is free or not is irrelevant to if it is allowed during rage.

Cleric15/barb1 is not unheard of as a melee cleric build. Instead of the more common fig1 or pal1 you get +10% running speed and +2 Power Attack damage, which isn't bad.

Right, but that wasn't the question, now was it.

Barbarians get spells if they multiclass. If something is a free action, it generally represents such little effort that it is not worth noting (so no concentration, hence possible during rage[?]).

And can I please just get a "yes" or "no" answer.

ATM, I'm on vacation and dont have my phb on hand However, if I remember correctly, it reduces casting times by one step (Full round to standard, standard to free). It might be a swift action however.

You can't even use halfling healing marks while barbarian raged, so I am sure you can't cast spells with quicken while barbarian raged.

I would say no based on the SRD text:A barbarian can fly into a rage a certain number of times per day. In a rage, a barbarian temporarily gains a +4 bonus to Strength, a +4 bonus to Constitution, and a +2 morale bonus on Will saves, but he takes a -2 penalty to Armor Class. The increase in Constitution increases the barbarian’s hit points by 2 points per level, but these hit points go away at the end of the rage when his Constitution score drops back to normal. (These extra hit points are not lost first the way temporary hit points are.) While raging, a barbarian cannot use any Charisma-, Dexterity-, or Intelligence-based skills (except for Balance, Escape Artist, Intimidate, and Ride), the Concentration skill, or any abilities that require patience or concentration, nor can he cast spells or activate magic items that require a command word

Well, the evidence is stacking against me But I guess the only way to make sure is to actually make a lvl 2 toon and see if he can do it, that is if someone hast already done something like this...
