    Default CHA and Turn Undead

How is turn undead determined by your CHA? Is it the number of you mod or something else?

    Phase 1:
Activate this cleric ability to drive away undead. To turn undead you must make a turning check (1d20 + your total Charisma modifier) to determine the Hit Dice of the most powerful undead you can effect.

    For example:
    lvl 16 Cleric with a 22 Cha(+6 CHA Mod)
    You roll a 16 on d20... 16 +6(Cha Mod)=22
So the highest undead you could turn would have a hit dice of 22 for that turn atempt.

    Phase 2:
Then you roll 2d6 + your cleric level + your Charisma modifier to determine the total Hit Dice of creatures in the area that you can turn. Turned undead flee. If you have twice as many levels as the undead have Hit Dice, you destroy any that you would normally turn.

    For example:
    lvl 16 Cleric with a 22 Cha(+6 CHA Mod)
You roll a 9 for your 2D6... 9+16+6= 31 Undead that you could turn or destroy under 22 Hit dice(Phase 1)

Now its kinda hard to determine the hit dice that most undead have in DDO(usually overflated), so the higher the CHA a cleric has the more success they will have at turning or destroying undead..

    Hope that helps...

    Default re turn undead

a turn check is 1d20 + total Cha modifier to determine the most powerfull hit dice you can effect.
then you roll 2d6 + clerec lvl + Cha modifier to determine your total number of HD you can turn.

Rmemeber to keep up eagles before a +4 or better item and seek eternal rest up for turning, although its a bit fubared with mob HD being so high.
I am currently running a turn clerec atm, and it is difficult to turn most mobs, but i am hitting a 34-37 cha by 16.

How are you getting your CHA so high? I feel pretty good having mine at 30 the same as my wisdom and that took a +3 on my CHA
and if your CHA is so high whats your wisdom and how do you get it there.

Human Cleric, starting stats of 18 Wisdom and 18 Charisma.

    18 Charisma base
    3 Tome
    1 Human Enhancement
    6 Item
    2 Cleric Enhancement
    ------------
    30 Charisma standing.

Only way to get that higher is a +3 inher. charisma item from the shroud, hitting it up to 33. And, in theory, he could use a potion to raise it up higher.

But, I'd hate to see that cleric's HP.

16 Drow Cleric could have the following if putting everything into CHA

    20 Charisma base
    4 lvl up
    3 Tome
    9 Shroud weapon
    2 Cleric Enhancement
    1 Abbot Trinket
    ------------
    38 Charisma

He said his clerics usually have that by 16 I would like to see it as some of the items you list wold be a bit rare and his hp and wisdom would have to suffer a bit.

i am currently running that clerec, drow and ate a +2 cha tome at birth. Have done the research o the gear, now lets see if it stacks.

    not counting a +3 tome and the abbot trinket;

    36 cha + 12
    16 clerec + 16
    4 sacred + 4 (spell)
    2 hallowed + 2 (seraphim helm, taps)
Gauntlets + 2 ( Reaver gauntlets of eternity)
Shield + 6 (Ageis Flame silveer flame turn in attuning the altars up to abbot vol side)
    --------------
40 max HD turn undead at level 16

will post more information as i see what stacks with what, level 10 atm, and im not posting my HP (its that bad)
