    Default Threnal Arena

Ok, so it's been like years since I did this "quest" out of curiosity. Memory says (and MY memory sometimes lies) that the exp and end reward were nowhere near right for the challenge. Has anyone visited the arena lately to see if maybe it's been changed up at all? (Heck, I havent even been to Threnal in months at least)

Just curious. Lotsa changes over the last few years, never know they might have made this single run, almost fun item, into a repeatably fun thing.

I may not like what you have to say, but I will defend to the death, your right to say it.

The end reward is appropriate IF it's impossible for high level characters to give loot to lower level people.

Since that obviously isn't close to true, the loot is worthless.

If it hasn't changed it also isn't really a quest its more like a explorer objective.. With the rumor of the Threnal rework or expansion in the air I am putting this out there for the devs to catch. I suggest using the blade you get from completing this as a prereq for moving on to a higher level content quest or zone. It would make for some purpose to do it, and add meaning for the work invested into it back in the day.

The rewards, both XP and items, are pretty much bleh...Im sure that wasnt always the case though.

Still, one of the more fun things to do with yer low/midbee's...although most pugs wont bother...

Isn't the reward the conversion of the thernal ceromonial blade to a... +5 true chaos flaming dagger/long sword? You know.. I never did check the hp and hardness of those things.

First time doing it was fun though. All of a sudden the fight for your life with no warning. That was fun. So was Tor the first time. All those giants and then discovering you can't insta kill any of them. *chuckles* wiped that first time in.

They're worthless, but not because of twinking.

They're worthless because, as designed at launch, they're less valuable than things you could pull out of the rest of Threnal between the caves and quests.

They have been, since launch, by far the most risk for the least reward in all of Threnal, especially before the death penalty was fixed.

    Wrong.

At launch, if you leveled to 8 naturally, without accepting help from higher-level characters, it was improbable for you to gain a +5 longsword or dagger before Threnal Arena.

Default Depending on how "improbable" is defined.

It was far easier to pull something out of Threnal or Giants Cave without all the hassle. The risk/reward of the request wasn't really worth it. The odds of dying in the Arena for an 8th lvl character would be very high and the xp penalty back then would have been too high.
