They are worth as much as you can get for um.

THe ones onthe AH for 300-450k Buyouts are indeed selling.....

I suspect many are going to Plat farmers though...

The last one I sold on AH was a buyout for 425k plat; not sure if that is the norm or someone was just desperate to finish up a Mineral II or something and mine was on at a time when they were scarce. I was pleasantly surprised because the other ingredients seem to be worth a fraction of that

Definitely agreed on the needed for every recipe along with the fact that you need more. However, my caveat is the droprate on them doesn't seem to be bad at all; anecdotal with just my experience, but I have looted more large scales than I have arrowheads and stones. My cleric pulled 2 on his last run through the shroud I consider myself lucky I wasn't one of those guys with the horror stories of 7 large horns in 12 shroud runs or whatever I used to see floating around the forums.

I dont find the Drop Rate lower onthe scales..... It just seems that way.

Its not that "Every Recipie" requires Scales.... Just about every recipie requres arrowheads.. Or Bones for that matter.... Its that the Highest Desired Items Require LOTS of Scales. Radiance.... Mineral II....

My personal experience has been that the drop rate is lower (as in, I have fewer Large Scales than any other Large ingredient - and that includes getting 1 donated by a guildie with no Tier III items crafted yet) but I'm willing to chalk it up to my fabulous loot luck

One way or the other supply of Large Scales is much lower than demand for them.

My personal experience has been that I pull 2 chains or stones for every arrow or shrapnel I pull, and 2 arrows or shrapnels for every scale. No comment about the bones. Sigh.

i think people who want to craft now and who don't run the shroud twice a day (like me) will occasionally spend 400kpp or so on an item. or also someone like me who just wants to finish the item and has the plat to blow on it. btw, who is buying all of my medium stones? seriously.

I bought a couple the other day for like 11k each or something like that... For some reason I'm short on stones for my next few items and the price was reasonable.
