    Default Grenfel's Batman build quests?

I just got back recently to the game and want to ask if this build is still viable? Also would like to ask the follow questions.

    1) Did Evasion nerf destroyed this build totally? I understand that back then that Grenfel is converting it to +5 Mith BP instead of +5 mith plate.
    2) Is there a more modern build for this one? Mine is only L12 and 32 point build.
    3) Also is there a link to the old and new threads for this.

    Thanks,

Evasion tanks are still viable. But the batman, mid-AC intimitank with rogue skills and Evasion, as we knew it is dead. Grenfel said it himself.

lies, you just have to be really geared up for it to work. also my pre-batman Shadowbane Inquisitor does just fine tyvm, as 28 pt no less, with 32 he could be main tank.

I will post a 32 pt build shortly

The Human Versatility nerf was another nail in the build's coffin too...

I still have one but in order to make them uber you really need to twink them out with +2 tomes, etc. at birth and have some uber gear.

I would say they are completely viable if you go human with starting 14 int, and eat a +2 int tome at level 1.

Here's what I intend Argental to be at level cap (this is approx, as I don't have DDO open).

    Ftr7/Pal7/Rog2

    Skills:
    UMD 19
    Intim 19
(smattering of other stuff, 6-19 ranks in some random skills)

Max AC mode (no evasion) - 61 AC solo in Beholder eye
    10
    +13 MFP +5
    +9 Mith TS +5
+5 Protection item (ideally Mineral 2 helmet of +45 HP, budget alternatives exist however)
+6 Dex (requires significant AP spent on Dwarven and Fighter Armor Mastery and TS mastery)
    +2 Chaosguarde
    +3 Chattering Ring
    +5 CE
    +1 Dodge feat
    +3 Paladin aura
    +4 Insight (Shroud weapon)

(potentially +3-5 natural from Barkskin, +4 dodge from Inspire Heroics, +2 Luck from Recitation, +2 from Pal15 standing close, +1 Haste)

Batman mode (Evasion) - 58 AC solo in Beholder eye
As above, but replace +13 from +5 MFP with +10 from +5 MBP, preferably the Mithril BP of Destruction, but the BP of Vol is an excellent choice until then. May then drop AC to 57 to free a slot (replacing +5 protection item with the inherent +4 protection from the MBD of Destruction).

Argental's stats were something like the following: (Dwarf)

Str 16 <== level up points here
    Dex 14
    Con 13 +2 racial
    Int 13 +1 tome at level 1
    Wis 8
    Cha 14 -2 racial

As far as party roles go, Argental is below average at DPS, stellar at crowd control and solid at boss control (using Intimidate), and has no trap skills and will not ever gain them. But he's starting to shine now that I've taken the first Rog level (which was a decision made after seeing the current trend toward raid bosses firing extreme amounts of devastating AOE Ref-save damage spells) - the second one follows at level 12 - and Argental is now out of retirement.
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.

Sadly, due to the nature of AC in this game, you have two choices - find a Chattering Ring, or be gimped.

This applies to EVERY AC Build in the game - as the mob to-hit scores are balanced against that ultra-rare, bind-on-acquire drop.

If you want even mediocre trap skills on a build like this, you will also need - absolutely - a +2 Int tome at level 1. And, at current endgame +2 tomes aren't ultra-rare, so that's not too hard to manage. The Chattering Ring and Tier 2 Mineral +4 AC Insight weapons are the ugly ones.

I know... and you have no idea of how much I hate to tell a casual gamer to go grind the Titan... to be viable...

My point was more that, if a returning player ask me if a build is viable, and the answer is "Well, it can be if you get all that gear and twink yourself with a +2 Int tome at creation.", I'm going to answer him no. When he left, +2 tomes were rare (unless he has one from the Invaders! days). He probably has not all the gear to make it work either. If he has only one capped toon, it's also going to take him forever to get the 24 larges for his Mineral II weapon... and add to that the 12 larges for whatever accessory he wants... he can't do it. Not right now.

Gear can make a lot of builds work, but you got to have access to the said gear.

I am working on a Drow version atm on paper. It may be viable and has a cool twist.
