    Default new monitor

got a new monitor to run off my craptop so i am not looking at a tiny screen with most of it covered by hotbars. 19" LG widescreen. really nice but i cannot get the game to run at the right speed while using it. seems a bit behind the sound and the other players. when i drag the window back to my laptop screen it works normally. i have tried to adjust the resolution but when i go higher it makes the screen move around where i cannot see the entire window at once. i cant get the monitors to show the same view either. all my in-game graphics settings are on low or very low.

i am IT handicapped so some help would be appreciated

click on start> run and type in dxdiag and press enter, it will be on the video tab - may also want to "save info" at the bottom and post that.

    That should be it.

Also you can right click on My Computer and and left click Manage. Then click on Device manager. and Then click on Display Adapter. That will also tell your video card.

Instead of stretching your desktop to fill both monitors, try just running with the external monitor only - there should be a button on your laptop or a feature in your display settings to do this. Then run DDO on the external monitor only.

can you post the dxdiag? you may also want to visit www.ati.com and make sure you have the most up to date drivers for the card too.

Most laptops have a dedicated button to do screen swapping like that. On the last couple I owned, it's been the function key, and pressing F5 at the same time. On another one, it was function-F7.
