    Default Untouchable Cleric

This build is 100% theoretical at this point, just tossing it out to see what everybody thinks. Let me say this much up front: I really don't care about staying centered. I will make an effort to find centering items come endgame, but couldn't care less along the way. This build is made with level 20 in mind in that I only want to ensure the 17 levels to get to Mass Heal.

    Purpose:
    1) Fully functional cleric
    2) Great defenses (evasion, saves, AC)
    3) TWF / Bow usage

    Halfling Cleric 13 / Monk 2 / Paladin 1

    Stats
    Str 9 (5) + 1 tome + 6 item = 16
    Dex 18 (8) + 2 enh + 2 tome + 6 item = 28
    Con 11 (3) + 1 tome + 6 item = 18
    Int 8 (0) + 2 tome = 10 (to keep UMD maxed at 1/2 ranks)
    Wis 18 (16) + 2 tome + 2 enh + 4 levels + 6 item = 32
    Cha 8 (0) = dump stat

I chose Paladin for a couple reasons:
    1) All Martial weapons
    2) Free double-dip Wisdom for bonus SP (110 if my math is right)
    3) 1 AC/Saves for free

    Class order: Cleric 2 / Monk 1 / Paladin 1 / Cleric 2 / Monk 2 / Cleric 3-13
I have to do it this way because of Feat selection problems. The only 2 feats I can take at level 1 are Mental Toughness and Extend, both of which are only available to a Cleric at level 1. I may delay Paladin till level 10 or maybe 12 when stat damaging is more effective and/or I get Imp Crit.

    Feats
    1 Mental Toughness
    M1 Finesse
    3 TWF
    M2 Dodge
    6 Extend
    9 Imp TWF
    12 Imp Crit: Pierce
    15 Grt TWF

    "Beholder" AC
    10 base
    7 bracers
    4 raiment
    1 alchy on robe
    11 wis
    9 dex
    5 protection
    2 natural (invaders ring)
    4 shroud parrying
    1 halfling
    1 dodge
    1 monk

56 total (52 with no raid loot, 49 w/o Raiment)

    Common AC
    3 bark from ranger
1 Paladin Grace (why it can be dispelled is beyond me)
    60 total

Raided out / Buffed / twinked AC
    3 Chattering Ring
1 +3 wis tome and the last enh point
    1 +2 wis stance
    4 Shield clicky / UMD'd wand
    1 Armor Bracers +8
    1 Haste
    2 Recitation
    73

    Saves
    8/4/8 Cleric
    3/3/3 Monk
    2/0/0 Paladin
    4/9/11 Stats
    1/1/1 Halfling
    5/5/5 Resistance
    1/1/1 Paladin Grace
    4/4/4 GH
    28/27/33 before enhancements

    Planned Gear
    Head: Minos Legens
    Neck: +6 Con
    Trnk: Kardin's
Gogg: Shroud Triple SP with Exist. Stalemate (+1 Int, +5 Cha skills)
    Clok: +5 Protection
    Belt: +6 Str
    Glov: +6 Dex
    Boot: FF / Striding
    Brac: Bracers of Armor +7
    Rin1: Greater False Life
Rin2: Invaders / Seal of Earth
    Robe: Icy Raiment

I tried to minimze raid gear. Shroud is a gimme, really. Just a matter of 2 or 3 runs to get the shards.

Just FYI - Rangers do not get any spells until they hit level 4, they do not get any spell points from Class (some for wisdom but not many at level 4) until level 5.

    Thelanis - Legion
    Ilundel - Elandra - Eliandra - Ilunbot - Mildred - Kyzac - Estelwen - Glondor - Destlor

Yep, but they get the bonus SP when splashed on a Cleric. Tried and tested hundreds of times (no fewer than 4 times myself).

Well, what he said is technically true. He's just missing the M/C side effects of splashing Rgr/Pal with a Cleric.

This would make a very good Soloist Character for sure..... I question the "Fully Functional" cleric part since your Missing any meta besides Extend, Missing IMT, Missing L8 Spells (ALthough thats not a Game Breaker) and Limited L7 Slots.

and Yes, Rangers (ANd Paladins) Do indeed get their Spell Point Bonus for WIsdom with a L1 Splash. Your Bonus comes into play as Soon as you get Spell Points (Which L1 Cleric does)

I'll give you that. The important part of the statement, the part where it applies to your build, was wrong.

Is the idea of taking 1 wiz instead of 1 ranger out of the question for a free metamagic?

You know the formulas for calcing SP? I certainly don't, so I don't have any clue how many this guy will have. My current cleric is a 14/1/1 so as long as I'm hitting mid 1300s, maybe 1400 I know I'm good to go. He has extend and quicken, but I only use quicken when I'm tanking (as 30 Str and 450 HP is wont to do).

Thought about that. I just give up too much to do it IMO. Fort/Ref are already my low saves, and I'd also lose a BAB, martial proficiencies, some SP, and Bow Strength.

Also, I'm just not sold on MMs for Clerics. I just don't think they're needed, honestly.

Hrm, I agree that is low, but it's bearable. I'm planning on a triple SP/UMD item for him anyway.

    So 17 cleric/2 monk/1 ranger?

    Interesting.

What level would Mass Heal come into game? Is 17 the minimum possibility? ( I have no clue what level that one is, never thought about it before)

If you could afford to go 2 ranger, your twf would be free. Allowing you to move some stuff around and possibly squeeze in IMT or TWdef (only +1 ac but better than +0 if you have a spare feat).

Not a build I'd mess with, but interesting.

Mass Heal is a L9 CLeric Spell in PnP(L17 Cleric)

Why go with a bow? With all those feats you can have 69 ac and gtwf, and 3 metamagics still :P

Go pally instead of ranger, get about as many bonus spell points as 2 mental toughnesses would give you, a little boost to ac and saves. Or fighter for that last TWF feat.

Just an idea. I know I would be impressed by a battle cleric in the fray with Harry dual wielding greensteels, not getting hit, and tossing prayer/rec/mass heals on the party at the same time...even if DPS was a little low, its still cool, also youd be a vorpal monster.

BTW currently setup you wont have the UMD for shield wands. One minute clickies arent bad though if you are an active player.

    Sounds quite solid.

Have you thought about a Fighter level instead of Ranger?

You lose that Bow Strength, which is not a big deal since Bow attack sucks anyways without Manyshot, Imp.Crit, RapidShot.
(Also you look like more of a TWF melee, than a ranged character to me.)

You lose some WIS based SP, but the Fighter bonus Feat will give you some slot for IMT (by switching some other Feat into Fighter slot of course), so not a big deal also.

You will get minor hit with Reflex Save, but mid 20s is just enough even for the Shroud, so no big deal.

With those high AC, you might want to have Intimidate which is useful when you're the highest AC toon in the party, and the Fighter level allows you to top it. (It's like +11 to Intimidate) An Intimitank who have high AC and Evasion with self-HEAL(Lv6) ability rocks. (Quicken Spell comes to my mind)

    Just my thought.
Adding an ability to Intimidate mobs effectively without losing almost nothing.

TWF is the primary goal - Bow DPS is poo w/o Manyshot. High Dex just makes a bow viable.

Ranger gets the same SP kicker Paladin does.

What's the UMD req for shield wands? Not arguing with you, just curious.

True, TWF is the main point. I'm not wasting feats on bow usage. I'd need the extra feat just to pick up IMT in exchange, so I'd actually lose 25 SP and 2 ref save in the process.

Intimidate is interesting, I'll give you that. I'll see what I can do.

Quicken spell would probably be a good choice for my level 18 feat, though.

would be better off just monk 2 cleric 14...TWF isnt really necessary unless you plan on going rapiers.

i think you would also end up with more the extra cleric lvl vs ranger

also, 3 bow damage isnt equating to a whole hell of alot considering you dont have manyshot or Ic: ranged

also, quicken is probably the best feat you can get as a battle cleric, as it means you never have to worry about missing a spell, which lets you do some really neat things like solo the reaver on elite or run down a titan tunnel sans crystal.
