Cannot hear voices or character audio

I have a Logitech USB Headset with Mircrophone that I have been using for a while and has worked fine. But recently the audio from my own voice (when on mic test) as well as others in my party cannot be heard in the earphones. They can hear me fine, but i cannot hear them or myself through the headset. Oddly, my avatars personal sound effects (swinging sword, drinking, casting spells) also cannot be heard through the headset though the actions of all other toons around can be heard fine as well as the other "ambient" sound effects. All other in-game audio can be heard fine through the headset, and my party members' voices can be heard fine when the headset is disconnected. All audio is also clear through other headsets without microphones that use the "headphone" jack. In the audio screen the headset is clearly marked within the Voice Capture and VoicePlayback selection menus, and like I said DDO reads the audio fine and sends it to my mates, but doesnt return their audio or mine to me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I am getting tired of stopping to type. Thanks.

What os are you on? if vista check the advanced audio options for the sound device and disable the "allow applications to take exclusive control" option.

i am going thru the same thing. i reinstalled windows and ddo and it didnt help. i talked with a gm ands they told me to contact tech support, little help on a sunday.

some times its as easy as you audio settoings within ddo with usb headsets ddo sometime defaults to your hardware sound card if you go to the bottom you can see a drop down menu that says playback and sourc i think which can be changed between usb and whatever your hardware sound device is. it still allows you to hear sound effects and such but no voicer you can also do cool things like have voice to headset and sound effects to speakers or music in th backround etc.
