    Default Spell focus

    Does anyone know if the spell focus mastery on the napkin from the reaver stacks with greater spell focus feats?

    The short answer is yes, the long answer is a little more complicated:

    The spell focus feat grants a +1 DC to saves with a certain spell school. The Greater Spell Focus Feat provides a (not stacking) +2 DC. Spell Focus is a pre-requisite for greater spell focus, so effectivley it provdes a stacking +1 DC (2-1=1), but in reality, it abides by the usualy "Which modifier is higher" rule.

    PS Don't swap out the spell focus feat once you get greater spell focus, as that will render the latter unable to be used.

    not quite.....

    Spell Focus and Greater Spell Focus Provide +1 Each to the Spell DC. FOr thats Group of SPells. (Necro, Evocation, Enchant)

    Napkin Provides +1 DC To All Spells.

    Yes, They Stack.

    What order your take spell Focus and Greater Spell Focus doesnt actually matter and has no bearing on your napkin at all.

    I've been told by more than one person that Spell Focus feats do not (unfortunately) stack with items. Can somebody verify whether this is true or not?

    Reaver's Napkin (+1 all spells)
    Spell Focus: Necromancy (+1)
    Greater Spell Focus: Necromancy (+1)
    =================
    +3 total DC to Necromancy spells

    or is it:

    Reaver's Napkin (+1 all spells)
    Spell Focus: Necromancy (doesn't stack with item)
    Greater Spell Focus: Necromancy (+1)
    =================
    +2 total DC to Necromancy spells, which renders a wasted feat

    I rolled a new wizard and hit lvl16 last week. If both feats stack with an item, then I need to swap some feats around

    The probable confusion here is the reaver is different than some other item that may give a spell focus feat. If that item simply gives Spell Focus conjuration, then no they won't stack.

    Reaver does not give a feat like some items do, it just ups all spells. So it does stack.

    Some items give +1 bonus to DC without giving a feat, but they are also different than Reaver napkin because the normal ones go by schools as well. I am not sure if a Conjuration or evocation Sceptre stacks with a focus feat of the same school or not. But that is probably what they are referring to.

    Wait, are you saying that SF:Enchantment plus a scepter which has +1 DC to enchantment spells won't stack?

    It's untrue. Spell Focus feats stack with every item.
