    IMO

    Stones = 2-3 'others' (no scales).

    Scale = 3-4 'others'

    (horns excluded).

    Ugh, you must feel like this forum is just troll packed with how much grief you're getting in your trade threads.

    Just a simple explanation for the above posts:

    There is no rare ingredient as far as anyone can tell, but scales and stones are required two or three times per charged shard in almost every recipe so they are in more demand than any other ingredient. Most dual shard recipes that people would bother to make require between 5 and 6 of each scale and stone, but may only include 2 or 3 chains, bones etc. So, be prepared to get raped if you're trying to acquire scales....the only one to one trades you're likely to see for one is a large stone from somebody who is close to finishing and doesn't care about giving up an extra scale.

    Dam im fairly new to crafting, so the party leader of my group asked for the large devil scale that popped for me because it was his last one. He gave me a large sulfurous stone in return

    Would most knowledgeable people consider this a rip off on my part?

    If so, at least it was for a good cause

    Not so much a ripoff really. Stones are also sought after.

    And you did it for a good cause, so in the end I say you come out ahead. Just make sure you remmeber the guys name...so that he can return the favor when ou're almost done crafting.

    arrowheads too aren't as common. I know a few people with more stones than arrowheads. Bones are the least sought after. Luck is also a factor. Personally I have pulled way more chains than bones. About 50% more chains than anything else.
