My ranger was built bad, but had enough rep to unlock the Drow so i decided to re-roll and fried my brain reading the forums and trying to make sense of the info.
MY main questions are:
*** is a 32 point build, how does one do it, what are requirements etc. - 1750 favour is the only requirement, after that all you characters will be 32pt builds IF you customize (choose what stats you want). Oh and 32pt builds mean you have more stat points to put into STR, CON, WIS etc.
i see information on tomes, where does one get them, what +'s are there on them, if you used a +1 can you later use a +2 to replace it, and i seen talk of a favored tome, whats the info on that. - Tomes fall in higher level quests mostly, although Ive personally pulled a +1 DEX tome from Stormcleave Hard. But when you get to Gianthold they fall like..rain. At the mo we have +1's, +2's and some raids drop bound +3's. Only the highest number tome you use counts. So if you have 16 WIS and you use a +1 you'll have 17 WIS, if you then use a +2 WIS tome you'll only recieve anther +1 to yer WIS, giving you an 18 WIS.
Are rangers with bows still a viable build? <generally a pure ranger is my goal> As i see mostly melee types listed on the forums and i am a plinker so don't want to spend a lot of skills in the melee. - Ranged attacks are slower, they do less damage and we have a bug ingame thats causing attacks to not register, but its still fun.
I am learning toward elf ranger for the bow +'s but is Drow also viable for archer type rangers? - Sure, anything is really...build what you want.
Do most rangers stay in light armor for the dex bonus, or is medium kind of needed for later. if medium is needed then i would say a level of fighter might be the way to go instead of waisting the feat slot on it. - Evasion only works in light armour, one of a rangers best friends.
Anyway, that list of questions should point me in the right direction. TY
