Would have been nice to know that our account name would be our forum name.

ask to have your name changed...i did exactly what you did and they allowed me to change it due to certain circumstances

LOL. Been there.

On the creation screen they allow you to give your account a "nickname" - I thought it was going to be my forum name and not tmdag4. Why does my account need a nickname anyway when I already have a login and password?

I asked CS if I could change it and they said no - there was no way to do it.

Thus, my intended forum nickname is now my account nickname and my forum name is the account nickname. And they can't change it apparently. CS said I should have read it more carefully. Perhaps. But there should be a way to correct something like this.
