Have not seen a +5 resist ring even posted about. That doesnt mean you shouldnt be able to find one from a hard or elite VoD or Hound. But, they should be ingame from mod6 and only seen them on cloaks. I am wondering If the Devs did not place them in the loot tables. Not sure why they wouldnt though since they are way past the lvl point when they should appear.

On that topic, based on +4 being lvl 11/13 (again, not sure why 2 different lvls) +5 rings should be in game now as either a lvl 13rr or 15 non rr based on current progression. I guess 1 more resist would be overpowering SOMEHOW to the general game play. Of course, everything after lvl 12 seems to be SR based and no save based.

It seems to me that when a ring and cloak have the same properties the ring is twice as rare, For instance in the tables +6 charisma cloak drop twice as much as +6 charisma rings or +5 protection cloaks drop twice as much as +5 protection rings. Since +5 rr resistance cloaks drop it is my belief that +5 rr resistance rings also drop but only about half as much. They must exist in the loot tables just hard to find..

The properties of a ring can emulate most item slots (goggles, head, necklace, cloak, belt, boots, gloves). Because Rings of Greater Energy Resistace exist (a cloak emulation), then its fairly safe to assume that +5 Resistance rings also exist, just at about 1/7th the likelihood that you will get a ring with the same properties as a cloak.

Do notice, though, that for some reason bracers can not be emulated as a ring. This is why you will never find +7 Armored Rings or Necromancy Focus Rings.

this is a consequence of rings being able to have more effects on them, thus diluting their loot tables. e.g. that useless ring of cha+2 and search +5 isn't possible on a cloak. Since cloaks can only have resistance, protection, charisma, elemental resistance (and a few others I'm sure) on them, you tend to see a lot more 'pure' cloaks (as well as garbage +2 cha +2 resistance ones)

I agree with you and willphase. I wonder what the exact % is though whether it is 1/7 or 1/3 or 1/2 what have you..

My +5 resist cloak rr halfling is ml 15 if that helps any.

There are some min level 9, +4 resistance cloaks (yes with no rr) floating about as well. So you can get them on level 9, 11, and 13 labeled gear.

I actually have pulled ML 15 +4 Resistance Cloaks.

If you don't believe me, I can post screenshots...but...please believe me. I'm lazy.
