Default What are some Monsters that you'd like to See Implemented in DDO in the future?

Ok...so everyone's talking about what's WRONG with the game and all that...blah blah...so why not a "happier" topic?

Pull out your Monster Manuals! What are some monsters that you'd like to see in the game??

Personally...I'd like to see more dragons, but the good ones (gold, silver, etc.). I think it'd be cool to do have like a Dragon War, where you'd do quests for the "good" dragons and eventually lead up to some crazy-ass raid where you had good vs. evil dragons waging war in the background or something...

    Just a thought...

I'd also like to see a COLD weather area where you could fight Yetis, and other creatures of the North; sorta Icewind Dale like..

    Just ideas...

In Xen'drik they'd be creatures of the South.

Personally, I'm hoping in our travels to Shavarath in the future that we will encounter a few of the big nasties from the other side of the battleground. I think it would be awesome if we ended up having to fight a Balor Lord to convince the demons to help our meager force from Stormreach assault the devils on their home turf.
Perhaps we convince the demon forces to launch an attack against the devils as a diversion. Sure, some of the pallies out there might not like it, but do you really expect 12 non-epic level adventurers to take on the full force of Shavarath alone?

Why am I a disgruntled vet? I could care less about nerfs, if the rest of the update worked.
I hate epic, GSF !="generalist wizard", and my raid loot luck still *'in sucks.

These are just a few of my favorite things.... an Aboleth or maybe a gibbering mouther. How bout Ettins? Or maybe carrion crawlers or a displacer beast the doom of all low lvl toons? Bring in the Frost and Fire giants. Maybe have a couple of Harpies fly in for the weekend and we could get a banshee to spoil the show.

The 4E MM has what amounts to a Gibbering Beholder. It's kind of a scary thought, but it would be pretty awesome to see.

    Storm Giants..!

I would love to run thorugh a quest where you're high in the sky waging battle with the oh-shyt don't get toss off the cloud, or a well designed mountainous region that has a cool castle where the strongest giants reside in.

Looking back at the D&D games I've played, there is one low-mid level monster I've never seen. I've played a lot of D&D based games and expansions and I'm surprised it's never been implemented (to my knowledge). For the record, I've played Eye of the Beholder, Baldur's Gate, Baldur's Gate II, BGII Throne of Bhaal, NWN, NWN Shadows of Undrentide, NWN Hordes of the Underdark, NWN2, NWN2 Mask of the Betrayer, and countless mods for those games.

I've never seen a displacer beast.

Seems like a fun, challenging monster that doesn't require a full party of elite characters to defeat. It's environment (basically, caves) exists in every D&D game ever made so why no displacer beast???

I concur, wouldn't be hard to implement either (take the existing Large cat models and add tentacles and hideous purple color)
    I don't have a zerging problem.

    I'm zerging. That's YOUR problem.

I suspect that is the hard part.

Tentacles seem like they'd be pretty problematic. And we don't (in general) have a lot of tentacle-y monsters, probably for that very reason.

    lowlevel
goblins, giant beetles and carrion crawlers, Purple worm, bears, crocs, and giant ants

    then add
    Owlbears
    Basilisk
    Chimera
    Cockatrice
    Ettin
    Naga
    Yuan-ti

    Raid boss
Kraken, or a Mind flayer, vampire

For the kraken, the 1st part of the raid or preraid could be onboard a pirate hunter ship. Basicly pirates assualt stormreach and the raid party has to defend stormreach harbor against the assualt or two or three pirate ship that have broken thou. Then the part give chase against on of the last ship only to be besieged by a kraken.

Make the Kraken the Pre-Raid...then fight a Hydra in the Main Boss fight!!!

i know they'd basically be the same as lions, but one of the only things i miss from AoC is fighting bears.
