*Sunblade is a totally random drop from level appropriate chests. I've seen it drop in Von3, Redwillow, Necropolis tombs/crypts, and Stormcleave, but never in the same place twice.
-Maelstrom is a more specialized weapon, used mostly by 2-handed spec melee types (greataxe) and it's anarchic, so anyone lawful would take a negative level penalty to use.
*Sunblade is a bastard sword that is enchanted so it can be wielded like a shortsword, useable by almost any melee class and some that are not (a drow sorc could wield it without penalty to-hit due to race granted proficiency).
-Maelstrom is a ml 2, +1 Frost, Anarchic Greataxe (1d12+1, slash, chaotic, magic- crit 20/x3)
*Sunblade is a ml 6, +2 flametouched iron short sword with bastard sword damage (1d10+2 slash, Good, Magic- crit 19-20/x2) With an extra +2 to hit vs. Evil creatures and an extra 1d10+4 damage against the undead.
I could see trading, say, a dwarven thrower for a sunblade, but the Maelstrom, while a nice lowbie weapon, may not see anyone willing.
Good luck.
