You haven't charged them to make them worth anything. At least when I last tried to sell off the cells, you couldn't sell off uncharged cells. Last time I tried was pre mod 7.

Which in one manner makes realistic sense. I mean what vender would really understand. Oh look you have a hunk of sulfur. I'll give you a copper for that. Shrapnel? I don't buy metal. Scales? shiny thing.. give you a copper for it.

Vendors dont need shards either, they are just shiney.
