We prefer having an melee with intimidate in the middle...

Did you read either my or the OP posts?? Go back and read that and you will see the relevance of my post man you have to take it in context. You are so far out of context it isn't even funny. Reading comprehension FTW.

far out of context, yeah prolly coz i dun just stick to one best spell but rather to use the right spell for the right party.

if the party's idea is to leave the renders alone, then use SOLID FOG

if the party's idea is to agro the renders, then use ACID FOG

OP is comparing between solid fog and acid fog. i'm really sorry that you can see things from the other side
If you want to know why...

Honestly I just find it easiest to kill all the mobs on the outsides - if your melees are solid its not difficult.

I'm usually in the center buffing doggies, (and throwing heals from scrolls when clerics drop the ball..), but if I were on the right side, and I were using CC, I would sure as hell STAY on the right side, killing everything with firewalls and solid fogs.

You don't care about having aggro provided you are never in a position where the shortest point to you is through the center.
Devs: Thanks for making Druids available to VIPs without the pack. This more than anything, has made me want to buy the pack.

Not an expert on the hound, but I was thinking it might be a great tactic for my Wiz to cloudkill at every portal (on one side) and just run back and forth. As long as I have buffs, I'm not very squishy.
Have a cleric keep an eye on me in case I get in trouble, and it seems to me they would never go to the middle.

From my limited experiance, things go south as soon as a bunch of people run to the middle......like they are scared to miss out on something. And then the mobs increase and people start dying.

Hard to explain exactly what I mean, but things will be going almost super easy, and then the hound gets down to a certain point and everyone leaves their posts.........and things get bad.

Usually it is completed, but only barely. At least that's what I saw in a few runs.
I gave up a life of farming to become an Adventurer.

Why keep a sorc in the middle when there's a bard in the party?

Why would a sorc not want aggro of half the screen?

I personally love having aggro on my caster, because then I know exactly what monsters will do. Other players are far more unpredictable.

I've only done it twice on my caster, once on normal and once on hard so I'm probably not the worlds best authority but acid fog seemed to work fine.

On normal we acid fogged the t-junctions, one caster/one tank running clockwise and the other team counter-clockwise. Anything that spawns gets webbed by the caster and smacked by the tank and the rotation means you usually pick up anything chasing the other team. A couple of times something went through the middle but it was aggroed on the casters anyway.

On hard we did the same thing but stayed on one hemisphere so that any spawning creatures, but especially beholders, didn't go through the middle.

Although, come to think of it, I didn't actually see any of the muched-touted beholders. Are they rare spawns or something?
