I've been successfully running DDO on Vista since I started playing in Feb of 2006 (or whatever it was), and that includes beta builds Vista.
Perhaps if you were to add some clarifying details, such as the problem you are having and the steps you've tried to fix the issue, someone could help you. As it is, your post is pretty much non-actionable.

This is probably more suitable for the technical forums, but it's easier to get a response if you are at least cordial.
Well 1. Post in the tech forum... 2. Give us more information of the failure and we can help... hopefully
A lot of the common failures in vista are
1. Install .Net 1.1
2. Run client as an admin
3. Turn off User Access Control (UAC)
4. Make sure any and all firewalls have the DDO exceptions
I recall a release note recently that they improved Vista compatibility. But, if you had previously manually changed your config file to fix the old Vista issues, the new fix wouldn't work.
Had you changed your config file?
Just went through this, here is the thread in Technical assistance I had:
http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=151720
Basically, they said Service pack 1 make sure it's installed.

vista is so much better!
take some time to learn it and its awesome!
get off the bandwagon. just because someone heard form someone who heard form someone who says they dont like does not mean you should also not like it because you refuse to except change. No one ever says why they dont like it. You tell me why you dont like it and ill tell you how you can change that.
VISTA ROCKS MY SOCKX OFF!
Unhelpful maybe, but objectively proven and not cube-bait. This statement doesn't even qualify as opinion, but as fact.
I am an MCSE and have worked with Microsoft products for over a decade. I include the MCSE part to show not that I am uber or anything but to show that I AM integrally part of the Microsoft system. I am no Linux junkie or Mac-head. Everything about what I am and what I do and what I get paid for is wrapped up 100% with a big fat Microsoft bow.
And I am telling you that Vista is the biggest IT disaster of any type or scale since Windows Me.

Normally I don't bother to feed the trolls, but I'll take one stab to see if there is any backing.
What, specifically, do you not like about Vista?
What steps have you taken to try and address the issue?
What would you prefer?
Do you opt-in to the SQM collection opportunities?

have vista, and no problems at all with it.
Remember if it not the software and the hardware causing the problem it must be the user "cico"
I'll admit I still find vista annoying with the comfirmation prompts (yes im sure the disk I put in I want to install, really no really stop asking and install my damned software and or download). I worked around the sound/chat issues vista had a few months back with the game after helpful players told me how to set up the config page for it. The only issue I cant seem to work around is my color scheme gets thrown off when the game runs so everything else is ultra bright. So if I go to check and email while waiting for my group to form or check the forums its blaring on my eyes.
I guess my main problem with vista is I got used to xp found my way around it then when I brought my new systems had to get used to another OS, that annoys me just like it did for 95 and 98, what can I say the older I get the more I dislike change lol.

Been running Vista since early beta. I am running the 64 bit Vista and DDO as I type. Very responsive, better than XP if your box has more than 3gb of Ram. I build and maintain Server 2008, Server 2003 and clients running Vista or XP in several states.
Remember Direct X 10 is coming at some point to DDO, not just Lord of the Rings.
Direct X 10 comes ONLY on VISTA. Everyone on XP boxes will not see any improvement. To be fair, a Vista box will not run the game in Direct X 10 either unless the graphics card is Direct X 10 as well.
I will hop over to the techinical section and look at your thread.
Many companies have not moved to Vista not because it is "Biggest IT disaster of any type since Windows Me" , which it is not, but because their IT sections are certified on older software and have some qualms about it..
After this month if you buy a new machine it will come with Vista if it is running Windows, Turbine support will only get better for it. If you get a new box make sure the video card is Direct X 10.
Most XP machine will start updating to Service pack 3 for XP starting today via automatic update.
Wait for those forum entries.

Edited the title for profanity, but the game works fine on Vista (I play it on vista64 and played in on vista32 prior to that) - what exactly is the issue you are experiencing? Please read the "how to get help" sticky thread and post the requested information (mainly a dxdiag) and we will be happy to assist you.
More accurate now.
OEM machines (customs, beige boxes etc...) will be available with WinXP until end of year.
And, many of the big names you can get with XP even after they stop selling it.
They slap a Vista Business license on it and then downgrade it to XP Pro.
As far as Vista likes and dislikes, when I build my next PC, it'll likely have Vista, but my current one runs XP.
And if I don't like the way Vista looks (I don't care for the OS to be "pretty" [Aero UI]), I'll turn off the enhancements.
Most people's issues with Vista are bad drivers, or bad "tweaks". (Mostly though they're trying to run software not designed for it...) And can be easily fixxed with appropriate knowledge.
Anyhow... enough about Vista / XP from me...
I wanna run DDO on WFW3.11 j/k
