Default Um, Can we make Rare Collectables just a little less Rare?

In Particular the Lightning Split Wood.........

Picked up a +4 Reisistance ring today and Figured I'd throw the extra +1 on it... Now I've been pretty much hitting most collectables since mod 7... Leveled a new character and have another lowbie as well.....

AFter Transfering all my Collectables over to one character (MAn I wish Large Collectable bags were a little more easy access as well, but thats another sotry) I started looking for these Lightning split Soarwoods.....
Hmmm... I have NONE.... I counted up my Collectables.. I stopped at 500................

Over 500 Collectables over the last month or so and I havent looted a Single Soarwood? You gotta be kidding me......

ALl all for not having a Farmable location for Specific Collectables..... But seriousy.... Can you bump the drop rate up just a little bit?

I wish I could have all the ones back that I have turned in over the last 3yrs. I will gladly give back the money I sold the items I got for them.

The problem with lightning soarwood is it only drops in quests lvl 6-10 or so. If you blitz those levels, you wont get many (but you will get tons of prayer beads, and lots of the high level ruddy fungus).

These levels are also the levels with the biggest variety of collectables, diluting the soarwood even more.

Why should a Collectable be Level Restricted? Is that Really the case?

Its not that they are level restricted, they are....sorta mob restricted.

Certain collectables fall from certain mobs, as ya know Impaqt. We dont have many kobolds after level 4 or so, for instance.

True, But Soardwood Drops from ALchemy Tables, Piles of Rubble and Backpacks from what I understand..... I see those all over the place.

I can get enough Prayer beads running Kobald Assalt a few times to stock up for a year....

I followed another posters advice and ran to the cabinet in tangleroot (the throne room in the middle). I got two lightnings in about 20 runs. That is the only place I have got them though I assume those other places where I have received charred or singed soarwood I had a chance for lightning. If you farm one of the last two parts of the outer splinter skull where you can run to the inner door you can do a run every minute and hit a bookcase (for hymnals and tomes) and the cabinet without difficulty.

    My problem is luminescent dust.

At low levels, those alchemy tables, rubble and backpacks drop prayer beads, wooden idols, some fungus, and other lowbie collectables. Past lvl 4 or 5 quests, they start to get the woods, the omens (moonstones), and other mid level collectables. Past the desert they turn into the highest level collectable drops like umm... well like the stuff that gives you the +1-3 skill stacking potions. TR isnt a bad one to get lightning soarwood (first 3 cabinets/bookcase things).

IMO, we don't need collectible to drop any faster.

I've already got half of the Bronze tokens I need to buy that guys most powerful weapons!

How long ago, was Mod 3?

Sadly, I think I still wouldn't have had enough to do a crafting ritual.

    I find this all amusing.

All the times I was laughed at and sometimes brutally mocked for taking the time to pick up collectibles.

From Christmas (when I last turned in) until now- 14 lightning split soarwood. actually I have at least 3 of every rare collectible, maybe more when I gather them together.

NOW its ok. I watch everyone scramble and try to get collectibles in quests today. 20/20 hindsight. Oh I'm sure I've dones something I will later regreat and get upset on the forums with, but today's notthe day.

When I do, fill free to mock me. I'll deserve it.

    Wanna Trade 4 of em?

Still 14 in 6+ Months with your obsessive COllectable gathering seems rather low tome.

/agreed. The lightning split soarwood drop rate is just a bit -->sparse<--. And I've been hoarding for a loooong time.
So, I hear that one day we may get Familiars...

General rule is harbor quests for collectibles that get turned in to harbor collectors (vials of pure water, Tomes: Prophecies of Khyber), market quests for collectibles that get turned in to market collectors (sparkling dust, luminescent dust), house quests for collectibles that get turned in to House collectors (Lightning-split Soarwood, Silver Flame Hymnals). Like all general rules, there are exceptions, but looking in higher level zones isn't likely to produce the collectibles you're after

Huh? Where did that come from?

14 was the number of Soarwoods you collected since December...... Roughly 6+Months ago...... My comments had nothing to do with yoru character level... Just saying Grabbng 14 of em in that time period when I already know you grab everying seems low....

Maybe because I forgot my Comma after "Still"?

    Lemme fix it...

Still, 14 in 6+ Months with your obsessive COllectable gathering seems rather low to me.
