Sorc/Wizard Build Help???

Can someone explain which would be better for a Caster DPS type... and also, are there any website that lay out cookie cutter builds for beginners... And no, i don't want to re-roll... I love casters

Sorceror; more sp, faster casting.

General cookie-cutter build would be max charisma and put everything else into constitution.

There are two excellent builds for casters today in my opnion. The 16 pure Sorc for animalistic beat down both in damage and insta kill and the very fun and tallented 14/2 wizard/rogue. Those are the two best casters to play for different reason I believe. Sorc for dps that you requested though.

Sorc easily outdoes Wiz for sustained DPS due to more SP.

The obvious choices for spells with be Scorching ray, Fireball, Firewall, Disintegrate, Polar Ray. Thats assuming you go fire/cold spec for you enhancements like most sorcs.

You going to want some support spells aswell however like Web, Otto's, Solid Fog, Acid Fog etc etc.... The can assist in maximizing your damage, like acid fog and firewall combined. Plus they'll help with grouping.

My sorc is probably more dmg spec then your average sorc but i still maintain a number of group support spells and buffs/debuffs. Nuking spec is not too bad against alot of the high end game raid bosses but overall you wont be doing as much dmg compared to barbs and rogues or the like.

If you go with Wizard ... everything is INTEL, INTEL, INTEL. DEX and CON rate as seconds.
Its true a Wiz cant do the DPS of a Sor, but they can change spells to suit the situation. making them, at times, more deadly than a Sor.

So far so good... but is there a detailed website/post that will explain spells and enchantments as i level?
