I played male toons when I first started, then a friend convinced me to roll a female and I just kept picking females as I rerolled or created new chars. I don't have any particular reason other than I just like em better. I have one male toon left, and the rest are his "harem"

Usually I get no grief whatsoever being a male running a female toon. But there was this one time, in Stormcleave....... Similar to post above. I was off voice because my son had borrowed the mic for a voice chat with a friend. Party was going well but one char, we'll call him Z, started flirting. I typed in party chat, "Dood, I am a guy" several times. I PMed him when he did not stop, "DOOD! I AM A GUY!" The rest of the group started laughing over it, and they told him several times over voice I was a guy. He just kept on winking and flirting. Later on I get my mic back, plug it in and tell the group I have voice.

    A slight pause......

From Z, "DOOD! You're a guy!!!" Everyone fell out.

It was a good run though.

That's the problem with you girls, always chasing after your perfect fantasy guy. And always seeing the worse in the men closest to you.

Just wait, someday you'll be begging for that run-of-the-mill human guy to notice how you walk by him.

That's how I view it too.
My main is male, but many of my other chars are female. Barker had his beauties, and Talon has his babes! (hey it's a fantasy game!)
Plus if I'm gonna spend hours of my time staring at a char's behind, it might as well be an attractive one.

But I've got a mix of male and female chars.

Plus I've got this thing for long white hair (also blue skin) Andorian women and Shadow Lass from the LOSH.

Oh, give me a Halfling man any day. You can carry them, when you need to; And they dance better than Human men, who have the "Frog in a Blender" step perfected, or Elven men.....we shall not say. I must admit, though, Dwarven gentlemen dance divinely. Not as portable, though.

exactly the reason i dont play male humans. heck even female humans run and sit funny, but nowhere as bad as males. imo the female elf animations are best, but lets not forget the most awesomness sound in DDO. female halfling warsqueek from a raging barbarian

I know! Tis the reason I rolled a female barb. Someone in our party had one and I kept hearing that sound. I thought someone was keying the mic and playing with a squeak toy. When I found out it was the female barbie rage I had to have one.

    OMG!!!

    The Rabid Ferret LIVES!!!

    LMAO!!!

    But seriously now,

In truth, I have a pretty even mix of male and female characters...

I think the ratio is actually 4 male-4 Female
    and... a Warforged

Male persona I believe...Then again...there is that PINK docent!

I play male AND female characters because
I have Played Male and female characters in Pen and paper.

I think the female characters just look cooler!

The only complaint I could think of was that I wanted the hairstyle
the Rogue had on the intro for my Halfling Rogue, and
it wasn't in among the choices...

I had two human characters, but no more,
although I am thinking of a Human Paladin...

    I am not sure...

Guess I will have to see...

Ok...so every day my Guild runs Reaver...before we do Reaver, we all jump up on the table in the "inn" in GH and we all dance. Two days ago I was on my cleric Alexondrya (female, human) and for some reason we all decided to get nekkid..well (and i wish I had gotten a picture), but one of the toons playing that wasn't in the group came up to all the female toons and offered us random pp/gp/cp. Like we were strippers! It was probably the funniest thing I've ever seen on the game in the past two years. I was crying I was laughing so hard.

LMAO! I did this to my guildies! All my male guildies love to run their female drow & elf characters (for visually appealing reasons no doubt). Being somewhat feminine myself, I tend to run pretty girly looking characters, so that is what they are used to seeing me on. One day I decided to pull my super butch, mo-hawked, human male barbarian out of retirement for a guild shroud run. They freaked every time I spoke or ran by one of them. They said it seriously creeped them out and forbade me from ever running that character again. Ha ha! Take that boys!

The character I built to replace the one mentioned above is a female dwarf barbarian, who's appearance is as feminine as I believe a female dwarf barbarian can be. I was running out to PoP to meet up with a pug group and once I got there, the male dwarf fighter in the group grabbed my character and began to dance with her. He continued the whole quest "in character" telling my character how hot female dwarf fighter-types are and how he is ready to pledge his undying love to her. I'm sure he meant it all in fun and fun it was. The party and I laughed so hard we were practically crying the entire quest.

Default As a man playing a female toon...

I pick gender along with the toon concept. My main is Trilou a 16th lvl soc. For me (wrong as it may be) when I think soc I think female... like wise wizard male. Then the name is a big part. Silly I know, but I normally have a name BEFORE I start the build. As for funny stories, it happended just this last week. I started a bow build which I made a female elf. While running harbor quest I joined a group. Everyone said hello and such, execpt for me who typed a hello (I had just started to eat some dinner). Once I joined the group at the quest the leader turned his toon toward me toon, after a brief pause he stated "Izrah... I see you have v/c on". I typed: yes. Yet another pause followed by "Do you have mic". Again I type: yes. At which he responds "Can you please talk on it" After a quick chuckle I keyed up the mic and ask him in my best Berry White voice, "What would you like me to say"? In what seemed like a nano second he responded, "Nevermind"! The real beauty was the last spot was filled by a female cleric... and almost the exact thing happend!!!

    Mine's named Snowprincess.

Nothing like running into a room jumping several times your own height, letting out a cute little war squeek, while sailing across the room, then swinging duel handaxes like crazy! Bio: "Prepare to get beat by a little girl!"

1st off let me say i am a guy and have 3 female toons.
It always seems strange to hear a male voice from a female character.
Also i have been know to play my fiancees characters on occasion. She does not like voice and rarely talks but the people she runs with usualy know her and that she is female. The has been a few time when she has asked me to play her characters for specific quests or for a BR break etc. I Always use voice so i can only imagine the faces of the other people in the group when i start spouting off " 3 incomming ogres on the left!" .

^_^ woot nothing like waking up with a cold and seeing my fun little thread still having life in it. The stories are awesome hehe part of me kinda feels sorry for guys who dont check before they flirt with a female in game now but only a little bit lol. Ive been told I have a sexy voice (I dont think so but meh) so Ive been tempted to make a male character to freak out some of my friends maybe even a WF still working on the details and the build it will be funny to say the least.
