Default ki should regen in public areas

I think ki should regen up to max concentration in public areas.

Why? Because the ki resets to your concentration score when you enter an instance anyway, so it wouldn't unbalance the game, but it would allow all the monks to Abundant Step everywhere, which is great fun (probably the best thing in the game in fact)

    Thanks for reading!

    I agree.

It would also reassure people that they don't need to meditate in a tavern (before they realize that Ki is reset on quest entry).

It does look kinda cool though.

It's totally true, I have a reliable source. You better reroll now.

There is no reason it shouldn't. It doesn't effect anyone to have Ki regen in public.

was going to repost, but found my old thread... sorry for the necro but just wondered if this was being added to mod 8 or not? If not - can we get this any time soon?

Personally I'd take it a step further and have a slow regen when you are below your concentration as well (like 1 every 6 sec)

    Default Thumbs up

Agreed. Everything else comes up while in the city/tavern, the Ki should come up too while I'm leaning on the tavern bar.

Turbine have previously stated they don't want anything in the game that would encourage groups to slow down and/or AFK in a quest in order to complete it more easily. This is why HP/SP doesn't regen and why (originally) the Ring of Trollish Regeneration was removed from the game (even thought it has been added back again... hmm).

I'm aiming low here... devs - just add it for public areas in mod 8 - we can talk about quests later

Haha, I was just saying this to myself today. Yeah, Ki regen in public areas would be great. And some very small Ki regen during quests would be rather nice as well.

If nothing else, Ki should go to base level when you enter the Marketplace from another zone... after all, we can cast spells in the Market now. So, it should be allowed all the accommodations of a quest zone. At least I hope this change is added if/when there are any more invasions to the city.

As for Ki regen at all times... I'm neutral. It would make the Monk class a lot more appealing to me, however. I find the whole Ki mechanic to be an unappealing one as it stands. I should never have to use an artificial mechanic to use base class skills, for example Stunning Fist or Abundant Step. Cooldowns are fine - but requiring Ki to use them really put me off the whole class.
