I'll keep this to the point.
1. Scroll cases would rock.
2. Have them be like a collectable bag, except for scrolls and inscription materials only (or just scrolls, if that's asking too much).
3. It would be inconvenient to open the case and grab a scroll, equip it, and cast it in a fight (as it should be, since this is not intended to be a quiver for spells, but merely a vessel for containment).
4. Scroll cases have long been a part of pen and paper D&D.
5. Did I mention scroll cases would rock?
