When I try to start the game from the desktop I am getting connected, and the programs are examined successfully, but then at the update portion I get an error, and it says just that it is a General Access Denied error. Anyone have experience with this? I cannot think of anything that could be causing it as I was playing the game yesterday just fine. Of course we did have a maintenance downtime didnt we...

There are a few ways to try and fix this, but I am assuming you are using Vista.
go to Control Panel, User preferences/settings. Uncheck UAC (User access control). reboot. that should work.
