    Default Seeking advise

Returning after a bit of a break and looking at making a Monk, and hope some folks can provide some information.

    1. Does Weapon Focus: Bludg. do anything if you are going to be using hand-wraps?

    2. Is the feat Power Critical useful to have with this class?

    3. Any downsides to wearing a robe over an outfit?

    4. Is there a list of the tier2 attacks, or do we just get additional damage to the tier1 attacks?

    5. Is there a definite Yes or No about Slowfall or Deflect Arrow feats working?

    Thanks!

    Yes

    2. Is the feat Power Critical useful to have with this class?

    Might be depending on build

    3. Any downsides to wearing a robe over an outfit?

    The looks

It seems that your main elemental or additional damage just increases, but I think there
are other new effects available to specific paths. I am not sure though.

    5. Is there a definite Yes or No about Slowfall or Deflect Arrow feats working?

Slowfall is a slow train coming. No clue on whether deflect arrows actually works.

Tier 2 elemental attacks do 2d6, tier 3 do 3d6, etc.

    5. Is there a definite Yes or No about Slowfall or Deflect Arrow feats working?

They seem to work, just not very well.

No, it is not. In fact, monks gain less benefit from Improved Critical than other weapon-using classes, and it's possible a monk might decide to forgo that feat, which is obligatory for everyone else who enters melee.

That is because monk weapons only crit 20/x2, compared to 18-20/x2, 19-20/x3, or even 18-20/x4 that other classes have. Imp Crit brings a monk from 5% crits to 10%, a 5% increase, but other classes may go 15% to 30%, a 15% increase. So the amount of DPS other classes gain by Imp Crit is over 3x as much as a monk gains. You can possibly find a better feat.

Power Critical is even worse than Imp Crit.

    Default Okay small clarifiction

Monks get attacks, finishing moves and special abilities that may or may not be linked to a fighting style. While finishing moves do not change as you go up in level (except DC) or fighting style, you DO get more damage from your elemental attack (as stated 2d6 then 2d6 burst effects) and aditional effects (some that even might affect red named, see water style's second tier attack I believe.) Depending on the path you take, you may also get abilities that can defend or even cure the group of maladies.

As for listing what is or isn't available, it's just quicker if you create a monk and go to enhancements to show unavailable.

AD is right on when it comes to Imp crit. So far, we do not have a actually verified working way to up our crit multiplier, and being 19-20x2 at BEST for the monks, is just not bloody worth it. Same for the weapon focus bludegoning. IMHO, not worth a +1 to hit for such a limited selection of weaponry without being uncentered.

If you are going str based, the PA+cleave is an insane mad way to go for quick and high Ki levels, especuially based with fire's stance. As mentioned in another thread, get a mob of easy enemies to chase you, block, and spin to win!

Be careful what you wish for, what you say is best; for sometimes what you seek is found, not at the end of the quest.
