Default I fear no rust monster!

With the monk finisher Grasp of the Earth Dragon (immunity to daze, sleep, stun) I can fight rust monsters as if I were humanoid, ignoring the stun effects (and a high enough acid resistance negates the rust). I love light-path monks as they make me not fear rusties and squids.

is that old content rusties or the newer ones in the vale? i found that decent saves and acid resist made any wf immune to old rusties, even the emp. in von 5. I used to love soloing the big fatty on my barb. But the newer rusties in rainbow are a completely different ilk. I wont go near those buggers.

Now granted stance immunites to daze would be nice . Lucky monks.

I don't believe MrCow is talking about a stance, but a 30 second buff from a finishing move.

Indeed, I was talking of the Grasp of the Earth Dragon Path of Harmonius Balance Earth/Light/Earth finishing move for monks. This is an area of effect buff, so you don't have to be a monk to benefit from it.

When you say "decent saves" what are we talking? And What save? Reflex,Will,Fort? I am currently working on my first WF and have never had to worry about it before.

theres two different save on the rust monsters attack. One is definetly fort, and the other i'm not sure on . But negating their damage via DR and acid resist should protect you from having to roll it in the first place. I believe they have to atleast do 1 damage for the effect, and the save roll, to kick in. Thus why the older rusties never really seemed that bad, DR 15/- and acid res 30 was near impossible for them to go over.

If you're not working with Barb DR, stoneskin should be sufficient for normal rust monsters, they dont tend to do alot of base damage.

Evidently it's just a personal buff now. Either that or I've had no other WF in the group at the time I used it.

This^, in so many words, is how you say time and feedback on Lamannia are wasted.

It is a group buff, but it displays no graphic when it goes off like the other finishers (no yellow-orange circle under people). Launch one off in town next to someone and then inspect them. They should get the buff as well.

Then I must have negative fear, as I like carrying a wooden quarterstaff of greater abberation bane.
