OK, so, Where's the News?

Not your fault Jerry, you have been the source of much DDO news and your podcast has always been a great source of info. I do find it a bit funny though that Turbine is pointing us to all the sites now that they have nothing to say, its like quick think of something for them to lok at while we are vast and mysterious, and maybe they won't notice. I hate to say it but when dealing with this player base Turbine just seems to be its own worst enemy, and every week that passes with no articles, little to no dev posts just frustrates the player base more and more

In case you were not aware of it:

Many consumers are not willing/able to "google" out your company's update info, when this is the official website for such things, yes?

It gives the impression that DDO is not being actively supported by Turbine (accurate or not, this is what is implied by not having regularly updated info on your own website...)

Many of my guildies have turned to other games while waiting for Mod 7 to launch, and with all the problems it has which are not being addressed at all....yet....they have returned to their Age of Ahnold or WoW or 4th Edition D&D dalliances. They say they far prefer DDO, but there are too many broken items standing in the way:

Eg., I levelled up a Rogue before Mod 7 just to try out Way of the Assassin II...and it is non-functional. When is this going to be fixed? At least before I could check the WDA or other threads here to have some idea as to a fix timetable. Now I am supposed to subscribe to a lot of MMO-news websites to find information on Turbine, which is pointless, as I don't play any other MMOs.....heh...
YET........[hint].....[wink].......[wink].....[nudge]....[nudge]....

(Good thing you got my monthly fees up front with your "discounted 6 month" deal eh? Well, it's comforting to know that my monthy contribution to the "Turbine R&D (/watercooler chill time) Fund" will EVENTUALLY pay for the useable MMO gaming experience I thought I was paying for... )

I am beginning to agree that the ideal DDO playtime cycle should be:

MONTHS:

1. SUBSCRIPTION SUSPENDED (as new Module is launched, buggy and unfixed)
2. PLAYTIME!!! (for @ one solid month or so anyway)
3. SUBSCRIPTION SUSPENDED (as nothing new is released, last mod content has been quickly explored and used up...)
4. SUBSCRIPTION SUSPENDED (as new Mod is just "rumors" at this point, and Forums are full of "guesstimation" threads about release dates/content...)
5. SUBSCRIPTION SUSPENDED (as new Mod is pushed back...filling the Forum with so much Whine that not even a "Threadaholic" could stand the deluge of negativity/counterTURBOLUVIN propoganda...)
6. Month 6+ would be "rinse and repeat" of this cycle...

So we have maybe @2 "ideal" months of playtime per DDO calendar year then.

Good thing I love this game, and am willing to pay monthly to play it "semi-annually" then eh?

They holding WDA for magazines and mmo update sites, I do not think they telling them that they will be fixing so and so bugs be intelligent thing to say.

So they should do better thread of updating on bugs and how tell us how they progressing with them, that information should not be regularlated to those mmoupdate sites!!!!!!!!! +!.

Right now they seem to be keeping the known issues list more or less up todate, but without updates on whether they have been fixed or not
