    Default tensor's transformation.

although this looked cooler and worked better in NWN, I still love this spell. I find it helps me conserve mana, and I actually hit a great deal of mobs when it is cast. I go sword and board with it, makes my AC go up to 30 with my sorc.. The fact that I always have heighten, extend, maximize, empower on at ALL times, means I go through a ton of mana. (my dmg spells are gimpy yellow numbers without them).

Main question is, how many sorcs actually use this spell on a regular basis? Currently i'm level 12 Sorc, and it seems to work okay in GH and the desert.

so is it a waste of a 6th level spell?

You will probably hear this several times after this post so I'll beat people to the punch:

Tenser's Transformation is currently not worth it because it blocks your ability to cast spells and divine power clickies are abundant enough, safer to use, and don't take up a spell slot. If you really need to use Tenser's Transformation then it is often best off of a scroll where the duration isn't as long.

i think in Pnpp it is amazing, but for ddo no....at twelve their should be +4 or better everything dropping for you, so the stat increase means squat. The ac bonus is already gotten from other items you find.

What would make this spell cool in a monty hall campaign like this is to make the stats +10, ac +15, and confirm crits +10, now that would make it worth it and be in scale with how it is supposed to work.

But....if you want to save mana, just cast this on yourself via spell with extend and you will save lots of mana since you cannot cast.....

yes this spell is a waste of a 6th lvl spell. instead, take Stone to Flesh, Disintegrate, GH or mass suggestion. even Chain Lightning is nice against mobs that have resistances to fire/ice

I'm the best there is at what I do. But what I do, isn't very nice..

Sad really - could have made this a spell to start a build around, instead it's just meh.

At least the spell tends to be more useful than Undeath to Death or Mass Fox's Cunning...

Tensers sucks for casting mages, to put it simply. Inability to cast isn't worth your horrible melee damage output.

Here's why its a great spell for those built for it, though: Tenser's gives you the base attack bonus of a fighter (Of the same level). So when you tenser's at lv16, you have a lv16 fighter AB. Master's touch + Tensers means you can swing weapons with good AB, but you still lack HP, AC and combat feats. (Which is why My melee wizard has fighter levels: to get the combat feats and some bonus HP.)

EDIT: If you really like the idea of meleeing as a sorc.. you can always pick up 3 levels of pally and 1 level of fighter. That will give you fear immunity, cha bonus to all saves (If you have Force of personality, you get a free feat), some AC and a fighter feat. The cons are: you lose SP, your heightened spells top out at 6th level Spell DCs (and being tenser'd you'll rely on CC/buffing more than damage/instakill spells) and people might say "*** build is that?". I don't play for them, though, I play for me.

I carry scrolls of this to use when I run out of SP.

in most other cases it is better not to use it.....for all the resons stated by others.

it is just as effective from scrolls. Will get you through one fight and then wear off.

I've also used it to get a boost to Str to jump somewhere.

But Divine Power clickies are usually better.

I do have an up and coming BattleWiz who plans on using it someday.....but that's a specific build and even then I don't know how it will actually work out yet.
