    Default 1 Sorc 15 Wizard

    Anybody done testing on this?

I'm mainly thinking of this sololy for the mana, with the versitility to swap spells.

Hammel, was one of the first to use the 1 sorc to mana up his Cleric way back in the beta days. I was just curious if anybody tryed this build and could share the pros and cons.

    Thanks

Splashing sorc made more sense when the cap was 10.

Now, the number of SP you get just isn't worth the cost, imho.

this is a bad idea IMO.
The worst of the multi-class options.

you will cast those Sor spells as if you were a first lvl char. 1 min buffs for instance.
I doubt you would have a maxed Cha, so using those spells for offensive spells wouldn't work either.

You only get a small boost from Wizardry items.......and only a few more SP.

Wiz/Sor multi-classed options are bad in DDO.

Bad idea. The ONY thing a level of sorc is gonna give ya is a handful of spell points due to CHR is not going to be spectacular on a WIzard. Your Much better off upping CON as high as you can for Hit Points if your going to solo a lot. Shrines reset on Normal and Recalling for mana shouldnt be much of an issue... Your only delaying yourself....

I solo on my WF Wizard a lot with just 1590 Spell Points. and rarely have to recall for mana unless I'm doing something on Elite.

This is something we used to do about a year ago. Most casters and clerics that I remember had a level of sorc taken at 1st. The starting SP is nice but it serves almost no purpose otherwise.

With the cap being 16 now you can do it and not suffer much or at all.......... but its not neccessary for the extra 100-200 sp.

have to go along with everyone else here splashing sorc just isnt a good idea for a wiz you would be better staying pure class or splashing cleric(wand usage) or bard or rogue for umd since you would have lots of skill points but since you didnt start that way stay wiz

    why clr/sorc? healbot!

people splash sorc on clerics as cleric (before mod 5) were quite hard up on sp (less than wiz even). thus there is a need to add sorc for the sp. in addition, both sorc and healbot clerics have a common stat, cha. clerics need it for DV, so it fits in nicely. after mod 5, the cleric's sp was upgraded such that per level, they are comparable to wiz. the only thing you are going to ever benefit is the ability to cast 1st lvl sorc spells and a minute amount extra from using sp items

if you really want to splash, splash it with wiz for free metamagic feats
If you want to know why...

The clerimics got arcane wand usamage out of it as well, handy nowamadays for say stonemaskin wands. but wizamards alreadamy have arcane wands, so kargon agree and not recommamend put sorcermermer levamel on a wizamard.
