    Default Armed or Unarmed Monk

I relatively new to DDO so please excuse my ignorance. It appears to me that the Monk is somewhat stronger unarmed than armed ie using a Staff or Kama. Am I wrong? BTW my Monk is currently at Level 3 closing in on Level 4. Thanks for all your replies.

That is basically true at level 3, and may remain that way until around level 9 or so (depending on other factors). After reaching level 9, ITWF kama becomes noticeably superior.

I have to add, that monks are the ultimate late bloomer of all the classes, and when you reach the tippy-top of the highest levels as a straight class monk, you will enjoy a lot of benefits for your discipline.

plan on ultimately switching back to unarmed combat, when you get to the highest levels of monk, unless you want to do piercing, wounding, or vorpal.

My monk is level 10 right now, and I pull out my acid q-staff of pg only rarely, and my kamas even more rarely.
