Question 8 to 10 runs to make a T3 item

    8 to 10 runs to make a T3 item?
    Tell him he's dreaming.

I'm a Casual player and I'm yet to get what T3 stuff I need to craft a T3 item that I want. I have 4 items crafted to T2 (and 5th item ready to be crafted on my next run) over two charaters and yet to be able to upgrade any of those to T3 let alot doing a two Shard upgrade.

I support a 10:1 upgrade and that's still a lot of one type to be able to upgrade to a T3.

Question: What do you define Casual?

If I'm lucky, I get one full day (4-8hrs) and 2-4 times after work for 2-3hrs at a time.

For me, a Casual Player is someone that has a real life outside the DDO world, like a fulltime job (even runs their own business) and/or wife with kids and etc.

For those opposed to the trading up idea as it might unbalance the game or make it nearly pointless to run 4 & 5, there are these facts:
    1) You need Supreme Power Shards (only drop in 5? I've not seen any drop in part 4 out of about 35 runs so don't know if they do or not.)
    2) You need the altar at the end of 5
    3) There's another area that lets us trade in items needed for continuing on a raid; Gianthold and the relics. How many of you ran PoP/Cabal a billion times and turned in the relics for other relics? The only difference here that I see is that in GH you needed the relics to get into Tor and Shroud you need ingredients to make items. The trading up (10 small = 1 medium, 10 medium = 1 large) should be seriously considered. Perhaps make it: 10 small AND 1-3 medium Horns for a medium and 10 medium and 1-5 large horns for 1 large upgrade.

Ok... so I kinda like the make your own idea.

Here's a twist from me.... 20 medium to make 1 large, 10 small to make 1 medium. Can only be done in the stone of change, so you cant sit inside and craft your large ingredients or whatever, and once made, become bound.

You want to make large(or med) ingredients, fine, you make and its yours and yours alone, no passing off to other characters and no makin em in the raid.

I also like the idea of using higher tier ingredients, tho i think the only substitution should be larges for med or small. Why? As many have stated its easy to get mediums till you're overflowing with them. If you really want to swap another tier ingredient for its lower end counterpart, it should have a cost. In my particular case, this would help me make my Daxe or Rapier, but then I couldnt afford to upgrade it and would have to go for completion runs to get more junk to upgrade... both good and bad.

I may not like what you have to say, but I will defend to the death, your right to say it.
