    Default Connection attempt failed.

Over and over for the last 20 minutes, but I haven't seen anyone else post about it.

The servers are up and operational if you cannot connect please first check your firewall settings and remove-readd any exceptions that may be in place for ddo. If that still does not help please post a pingplotter trace to gls.ddo.com (or a tracert)

Please turn the firewall on and configure it, OR run under a clean boot (using msconfig) never disable firewalls if you are having network issues because if the firewall is causing it - it will still cause the problem disabled.

Did you try a clean boot? Also try bypassing the router if possible.

I tried the clean boot to no avail, and skipped the router bypass as DDO loaded up fine on my laptop.

In the end, I did a system restore to yesterday's checkpoint and that resolved the issue but I hate moving on without figuring out what the root cause was. AFAIK, there were no system changes between logging in last night and this afternoon.

Anyway, thanks for all the suggestions.

Glad the system restore helped, very odd as to what caused it, if you do figure it out eventually feel free to post what it was. May save someone else the trouble later!

    Default Similar Problem

I tried to log in on Friday and noticed my client updating. Then when I get to the load screen the client shut down and I got an error message. I wasn't able to try again till tonight, the same thing happend.

I shut down my firewall and logged in with no problem. I've never had to shut down the firewall before. I may try the system restore just to see what happens.

Did you just try removing and re-adding the ddo firewall exceptions?

What happens when you try to login to this account? Do you receive any sort of error message or does it just keep retrying?
