    Default pally/fighter split thoughts

I got board and rolled this. Basic idea is to have a somewhat balanced offense and defense.

    7fighter/7pally/2rog
    Elf
    Lawful good

    S:16
    D:14
    C:12
    I:12
    W:8
    C:12

Requires +1 int and +1 cha tome for CE and FOP. Also a +1 dex tome would help for fighter armor mastery.

    Feats:
    Least dragonmark
    Lesser dragonmark
    Extend
    Toughness
    CE
    FOP
    Khopesh
    WF slash
    WS slash
    Imp crit slash

I wanted to fit power attack in here but ran out of room.
    What else am i missing?

My original idea was to use halfling dragonmarks with maximize and pally devotion line but i thought the elfs extented diplacement may work better.
    Which would you prefer?

    Thanks for any comments.

    Hi Automater,

I would recommend going more Pally or more Fighter, but not an equal split. That way you can take advantage of one class' strengths. For example, for either route you can max out your toughness enhancement. You could go with more of an even split but due to the enhancement system I'm not sure it would be as affective.

If you go Pally you could go 11 Pally for 30 point resists, +4 auras, a decent amount of SP for divine favor, etc/ I'd suggest a final split of 11 Pally / 3 Fighter / 2 Rogue. Fighter 3 gets you fighter haste booste, 2 extra combat feats, fighter strength 1, and the shield mastery I feat so you can fill out mithral breastplate and mithral tower shield with a 20 dex.

If you go fighter as your main class you could go 12 Fighter / 2 Pally / 2 Rogue. 12 levels of Fighter get you the fighter feats all the way up to greater weapon specialization. 2 levels of Pally gets you divine grace for good saves and one emergency LOH.

    Automater-

I have rolled my fair share of Pally/Fighter types....sometimes with an extra splash of rogue or cleric......and I have to agree with Ralmeth. I would suggest going to 11 Pally (better than 12 Fighter IMO). 11 Pally....2 Fighter....for sure. Add more Fighter or Pally or, if you are daring, splash with Rogue or Cleric. I just dont think that going half and half is a good way to go.

Are you taking fighter 7 for Fighter Armor Master 2 and Tower Shield Mastery 2? If so i think your build is fine. Otherwise do 6 fighter, 7 paladin, 3 rogue for an extra d6 sneak attack. BAB will be exactly the same at 16 as the OP. Take rogue at level 1 to maximize the amount of skill points you get as well. I'm going to assume you are taking 7 paladin for Bulwark of Good 2 and Resistance of Good 2.

    Arrow

Strongly suggest goin Paladin 10 or 11.

Stay Elf and go with the Dragonmarks...(I´m personally not too fond of Dragonmarks at all, but since Elf is a better choice of the two....I´d go with em if you must)

Drop 2 feats and take Powerattack and Cleave. (if you want to be more survivable...dropping the Mob(s) in front of you is a great way to do so....and you also become a more effective party member.)

Which to drop.... Khopesh and Toughness.

Khopesh: Although Khopesh´s are pretty much the best Sword & Board Weapon, drop it....you are an Elf, go Longsword or even better go Rapier. Take the enhancements, use them to your enefit and enjoy the crits you´ll have with power Attack and Cleaving. (Cleave with a rapier....not exactly realistic...but sure! )

Toughness: Upon reaching Level 11 use the Minos legens and then respec. Simple as pie. You are now able to take the feats your end build (L16) requires to be the best he can be.

Any questions I´ll be more than glad to answer. Paladin´s and Paladin Fighters have been what I enjoy and have focused for 2 years now on trying to make the most survivable, durable and deadliest Tank out there. (Unfortunately Elf and Halfling are NOT the way to go)
