Sorcerer

This will be my first Sorcerer and im not sure what a good build would be.I have unlocked drow already and thats the race that i would prefer to use to make my Sorcerer.So i would really like some help if you know a good Sorcerer build can you post it.

Fairly recently I built my 1st sorc (just a few months)........... they play vastly different from wizards.

What has worked for me so is:

Invest heavily in Charisma and Constitution

Dex will never really amount to any real AC or benefit ... my advice skip it, same for intelligence

wisdom you can skip also but take the feat "Force of Personality" to boost your will saves

maximize, empower, extend ............ get em

choose your spells carefully........ you can only change them out every 3 days.... so do your homework 1st.

thats about all the advice I have............ be prepared to pull lots of agrro. Remember they are not much fun until 5-6 level.

1. prepare to die....a lot, especially at low and mid levels

2. prepare to spend lots of money.

3. have LOTS of patience

4. reroll to a WF if you get sick of dying, even though you lose 2 cha points (which you really dont notice after say level 5) you do notice the fact that you can heal yourself. It comes in handy. You will get so many spell points that it really doesnt matter much what race you pick. My WF has a higher Con score than Cha yet I have as many spell points at my level as the next guy, I aint wasting money on pots and wands, and clerics dont really worry about healing me.

5. Stay a pure sorc, dont multi-class.

6. For a drow build, go max cha, then con then dex. I would take concentration, and jump. Take all the enhancements that give you more spell points, and if you want specialize in an area (fire/cold or force or acid, etc.)

7. For spells dont forget your haste, firewall, blur, displacement, maybe Otto or hypnotic for CC. Try to mix it up, have a cold spell, acid or lightning, MM is a MUST, and a fire spell.

8. You will be wanted in parties, and know that most of the time your the only caster (except a cleric or bard) so stay back of the main group. Some quests, you will just haste the group, some quests you will be the damage dealer with firewall, most quests you are only need for the end boss kill, some quests need a CCer, etc. Be prepared for any role.

9. Have fun, and take a break every now and then and go play a melee or other character.
