Default "Sell Gems" button and locked bags

Since the introduction of gem bags, I've been collecting all the gems I find and simply keeping them in case they are put to good use in the future (read: more than just vendor trash for plat). My guild set up a system where we have one character banking all the gems we find but to make the process easier on everyone, I wait until I have a bunch of gems before mailing them anywhere... this is where I encounter problems.

The current "Sell Gems" button ignores the fact that a gem bag is locked and will sell all your gems if you accidentally click it. Just not I sold a whole bunch of gems in my bag trying to sell something else to the vendor and hitting the wrong button. It is not the first time I have done this and while I am usually careful, miss-clicks happen and one such miss-click just cost me a lot of collecting.

What does everyone think of adding a confirmation box to the Sell Gems button or simply not selling gems in a locked bag?

I've never had that problem, so a confirmation would just be an added annoyance to me. If at some point gems do become very useful and important, maybe, but not at this stage.

The gem bag is working as desgin.
Locking the gem bag prevents anything from happening to the gem bag itself not the contents inside the bag, so the gem bag is working as desgin.

The game does not need anymore confirmation windows.

not worth the time as gems are not woth anything their not colectables their not items they just seem to be their to fill out the loot table and as such not worth keeping nor spending the time and money to add the comfermation box

as it will requre not only programing time but also testing time that could brove to be over 30 house total for something that is most likly never going to be help full

Collectibles were not worth anything one month ago. Now they're worth +2 AC, +1 to saves etc...

A dev post even hinted that gems will probably make it into the crafting system before we even knew collectibles would be used.

An unlocked bag cannot be sold, so what's the point of locking it?

I realize this is not a major issue but you have to understand i just accidently sold gems i've been collecting for a long time

Is this true of the medium and large bags too?

Definitely true for larges. I'll see if any of my characters has a medium and try.

I believe there is now a buy-back option so if you anciently sell something you can get it back.

personally, i took the sell gems button as a big fat hint that they're never going to come up with another use for gems...

You are able to buy back gems as long as they were NOT in a gem bag when you sold them.
If they are in a gem bag when they are sold they would not apper in the buy back window.

I have noticed this as well. It is definitely a weird set up and I assume a bug as it does not make any sense.

To keep you from destroying it accidentally.

    That's the point.

No, there's already a confirmation window when you try to destroy something. Locking an item is also the best way of not accidentally selling it.
