    Default Microphone issue?

    Ever since I downloaded Mod7 my Mic won't work. I can hear through my headphones but not talk. I replaced the Mic and checked all the settings and it still doesn't work. Once a guildy could faintly hear me, but just for a few minutes. Is this a Mod bug for Vista or something else?

    Thanks

    It shouldn't be related to Mod7. Try the following:

    Open your UserPreferences.ini file that is located in your Dungeons and Dragons Online folder inside My Documents and find the [Voice] section. Make sure the following is configured:

    NetworkLatencyThresh=250
    MicVolume=1.00
    MicCaptureThreshold=0.25
    VoiceVolume=1.00

    Make any changes necessary, save the file, then load the game again and give voice chat a shot again.

    Also, make sure you adjust things like your Mic Volume in Vista, also try turning on Mic Boost (sometimes it's called +20dB) as well to see if it helps.

    Default mic issue

    I experienced an issue with similar symptoms. It turned out that my new laptop was trying to be a little smarter than it really is. It was auto-detecting when a mic was plugged in, and switching the active record device. The problem was that it didn't always do this correctly, so I'd be wearing my headset and talking, but my party members were hearing mostly background noise, if anything. The PC was selecting the built-in microphone instead of my headset microphone. You might pull up your PC's sound controls, and verify that the correct microphone is active, then load into the game, keeping the sound controls open. Then you can turn on the mic test in the game, and alt-tab back to the sound controls to adjust your levels if needed.

    I had the same issue and fixed it by using MIC BOOST from you control panel/audio/advanced.

    Its a small button to click. So you may have to play around until you find it, but it will say eaxactly that.

    Thanks, I got it working. I checked Turbinus' settings and a couple were off and I disable and reabled the mike in my control panel and that got it to work. Thanks again.
