Raid Gear!

Ok, who hear doesn't think the Gloves of the Glacier wouldn't be good for a cleric who uses both extend and maximize? I completed this raid last night on my cleric and was given **** by a Bard who said those were a caster item and I shouldn't have rolled on them. I did roll on them, won the roll, looted the gloves and was happy with the item until I recieved tells saying I should have let one of the casters have them. It really peaved me, especially since I went through over 80 heal scrolls and 5 major pots trying to help the party complete this raid. The only reason for a cleric to run this raid is either for the FP if your a BC, or for the gloves and bracers. When and if the bracers drop I'll be rolling on them as well, if you don't like that then don't group with me, my char names are in my sig.

Deffinatly cleric item as well as caster. Why does the bard care? They are definatly not Bard, what is he going to do maxamize soundburst?

I agree there isn't much raid loot out there for clerics, and who is to say what one class can or cannot use. If they have a problem with you rolling on it tell them next time do it without a cleric. I am sure that the people who have a problem with it will find it hard to get a grp soon enough.

My thoughts exactly on this one. I'm still ****ed about it, but it's nice that at least a couple of other people agree with my thoughts on this particular item.

I use both of those metamgic feats however....I would rather see my guildies throwing nastier polar rays first....

so my answer is, I would roll on them unless a fire/cold spec caster was rolling on them.

I'm with twerpp on this one and really one if that fire/cold caster was someone I ran with a lot.

Its a toss up really..people need to stop assuming things about the builds of other players.

But I can become a fire/cold spec caster for about 2500 PP. Are you saying because I'm lightning/acid that I shouldn't be able to roll on them?

It only helps your cold spells if and when you acquire both the gloves and the bracers. IMO, the only viable raid gear for clerics in this raid are the gloves and bracers, if not for those then I'd never run the raid.

The gloves are nice for anyone who has the metamagics. Sorcerer, Bard, Ranger, Paladin, Cleric, Wizard... they all might have a use for them.

My point exactly! Maybe this post will help educate others out there about the feats we clerics use. More effecient use of metas mean more spell points for healing...well really I just like casting extended max/empowered blade barriers and watching everything die in them.

i think that the clerics deserve pretty much anything they want for carrying people through that raid... A healthy splash of clerics seem to be the common factor in many of the succesful groups that i have seen.

... and rangers!... yes, let us not forget the rangers...

Always thought the helm would benefit melee as well as clerics, but most think its solely a cleric item.

Its not, nor are the new items wizard/sorc only....

A'course I wouldnt let Vorn roll on them....gimps are gimps no matter the raid loot they wear.

Considering I and Shima were the arcane casters on the raid, and you won the roll fair and square between Shima and yourself, they're your gloves buddy. I took that outfit since no monks were in the party. How that wouldn't be a cleric item I have no clue. I am pretty sure I can speak for Shima when I say you earned the gloves bro.
