Default Suggestion for In-Game justification for User-gen'd content

The Twelve find a device that can craft and stabilize a small pocket of Dal Quor, and more importantly, it can show possible events in the future. By entering the chamber, the user's consciousness is transported to Dal Qour (basically dreaming) into this pre-chosen possible future. As it is just a dream, nothing can be taken from there, but important information can be gained.

Out of game, if the platers were given some quest building tools we could create our own quests, and post them to the turbine servers. Players could then actually play them, and make notes on the quests. When a quest is deemed ready by the staff, it can then be polished, and fitted into the story of the main game. Players would not be able to remove items from the quests, other than collectibles in the form of psi-crystals, that players can then either use in crafting, or turn in for some reward.

Creators of the quests that are chosen to be incorporated into the game could be given a 3-month game card, and their name attributed to the beginning of the quest. (DM announces, "This quest was created by ContentKing.")

So Turbine, if you are seriously thinking of letting us play with some of your toys, I think that this would be a great way to do it.

very nice idea, though taking any items out of player made quests might be a bit iffy.

I agree. That is why I suggested only collectibles. Maybe use them for crafting dyes or some other non-game altering mechanic, but still something that people might want.

I'd love to see user generated content, but I think there needs to be some sort of incentive to do it. (xp, loot, etc) Right now, I don't see people doing many quests just for "fun". They're doing the high loot quests.

Maybe the way to do it is to have turbine set the loot level of a quest after evaluating it. Of course there's always the possibility of people sneaking in shortcuts/exploits.

I think that people would since one of the problems of DDO is that while Turbine generates content on a pretty good scale, we blow through it so quickly. So instead of running the Shroud 15 times in a week, maybe people will run it 13 times, and run a few user-generated quests. There is reward in the challenge.

I think that it would be a good idea if consumables weren't used up in there either. (You get them back when you exit the chamber.)

So no material rewards, but no cost either. No item damage from death. It's all just a dream.

    I don't dream about quests.

I dream of a Halle Berry and Salma Hayek sandwich topped off with a little Megan Fox for dessert.

But that's just me, if you want to dream about quests be my guest.
