    Default Runed Ogre Femur

    Just-a-wondering.......

Have had this item in my inventory for a year and never thought to use it. It is a per hit fortitude save (dc20), failed save and target cannot cast spells for 18 sec.

I am pretty sure this effect is not for red named but was wondering of this would stop the bearded devils from being able to teleport?

figure dual wield this with a paralyser and may be able to allow the tanks to bring down those pesky mobs.

Does this weapon have any merit in current game and if so, what stategy or situations to use it because I've never seen or heard of it being used.

Just looking for some constructive input.

    Thanks

Take a close look at the weap description .. I believe you'll find it only procs that effect on a crit .. which will be
on a 20 unless you are IC:blunt spec'd .. makes this significantly less useful than it may appear at first glance.
Been awhile since I looked at the descrip - this is how I remember the effect, could be wrong ..

With regard to its ability to prevent devils from teleporting .. if I recall correctly, the devil is using a "spell like ability" .. not actually
casting a spell. Even if you land the debuff from the Femur, I dont think it will restrict them from using the innate ability. Again, could be
wrong - perhaps others have actually tested it. I would submit though, that if you need a 20 to make the Femur proc anyway .. your dice rolls
are probably better spent with a Vorpal in hand. :-)

People have reported Feebleminded and Way of the Assassin I: Thoughtburn to stop devil teleporting. Considering this information I'm fairly certain that this weapon could stop devil teleportation.

Also, another question in regards to its use is "Does this work on red named monsters?", being if it does, then it may have more uses.

A barb could use it more effectively, perhaps, with the crit enhancements. Or just run around town with it because it looks cool to carry a big bone.

Yep a devil's tele is an innate ability not a spell. No mind effects will stop it though crippling / slowburst causes their actions to be slowed making for fewer teleports.

But great on beholders though a piercing specced player with weakening / enfeebling is far more effective.
